Tablescapes, Pink-tober

I’ve been having trouble getting much done these past 2 weeks, so much hurricane stress~

One minute we’re packing up to head north, and then decided to stay on the coast because Irma is going to impact much of north Alabama as well as now edging over to our coast…

Our Orange Beach Publix is closing today at 5pm and when I wrote this yesterday we were now in the cone of the storm force winds.  Yesterday we went to stock up and met evacuees from as far away as Hilton Head, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas

Not much sleep tonight for anyone, and special prayers to my friends and family in Birmingham and all over Alabama…

The news and photos from Texas to Florida and islands beyond are devastating and so hard to comprehend…not to mention the fires in the west and the earthquake in Mexico~

Feeling helpless to do anything for the hurricane victims except donate and pray,  and sit and wait to see what happens here, I decided to do something positive and Think Pink, revisiting my posts that honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, October

  1. I bet you feel like a tired yo-yo, trying to figure out where to be in all of this. I sure hope everyone’s decisions have been sound. I guess it’s inevitable that property damage will occur, but I pray the loss of lives will be none.

We are all n the cone but with the wobble to the left we are right in the center here and Birmingham so we’ll get a lot of wind and rain. Hoping for the best! Love your pretty pinks and scapes. Several years ago DCH had a contest for the best decorated bra, all for BCA. Well you can imagine, decorated bras everywhere! All for a good cause and chuckle……Stay SAFE!

  3. Stay safe Jenna. My niece and young family evacuated Tampa yesterday. We are glued to the news and helpless in the face of the ongoing devastation. Prayers.

    • oh goodness, I hope they found somewhere to go, there isn’t a hotel room to be found around here. We are stressed out but should be safe, but now worried about the rest of Alabama. Thank you Johanne~ >

  5. CoziNest says:

Love the pink, Jenna. Especially the ribbon 🎀 napkins! Praying for all.

  6. Oh I love it … Pink-tober! Had to laugh at the bra on the table!…you are too funny! Love all of the beautiful pink tables and decor..and those pumpkins…too cute!!! Good to have a little laugh when all this is going on….Stay safe..all my siblings and families in Florida…as I type they have all lost power, trees, etc..but are safe! Take care!!! Stay safe!

  7. Sch clever ideas – especially like the rose/radish centerpiece!

I bet you do feel like a yo-yo Jenna. We dodged a bullet with the initial tracking estimates and we were stocking up on water and propane Friday like everyone else here in NC. I spent most of yesterday putting watering cans and potential projectiles away and shoving everything that would fit inside my potting shed. Irma’s path is huge and even small wobbles will have an impact. Thoughts and prayers for everyone in her path! Stay safe. ♥

Hope you ‘re safe and dry. I can’t believe that Jose is lurking–and other systems are bubbling uoboff the coast if Africa. We’re clearing the yard and porches tomorrow, as bad weather is headed here, too.

    • Thank you, we are feeling like we’ve dodged the bullet twice, with both homes just now supposed to get wind and rain…I have been worried about your hilltop garden as the remnants approach, hopefully Irma will fizzle quickly and Jose stays away! >

Jenna, I love those High Heel Cheese Cookies! All clever ideas. My company’s headquarters is in Clearwater, and they have been so stressed out all weekend. Stay safe my friend. ♥

    • We are feeling lucky this morning, not expecting much but some gusty winds and rain, which is normal anytime. Luckily Irma downgraded quickly, I hope your Company was not too impacted, but I know flooding in that area was a huge concern. Thanks Debbie >

  11. The “Save the Ta-tas” tabelscape is making me smile this morning….I need to smile! I love this post because my sorority’s (ZTA) philanthropy is Susan G. Komen/ Breast Cancer Awareness. We’re the ones who turns the NFL pink in October. 🙂

I will be happy when Irma is a gone pecan. James Spann is acting very chill about it, so hopefully it won’t be that bad. But the last time he was so chill we had the Snowpocalypse.

    Y’all stay safe!

    xo,
    RJ

    • Yeah, poor James Spann, I still haven’t forgiven him…we’ve been watching Fox news and the Weather Channel, just a little breezy here and no rain so fair even though radar is indicating it. Stay cozy Ricki Jill, and hopefully Irma will soon be yesterday~ >

  12. Kitty says:

Thank you for the happy “pink” post, Jenna. We need some happiness with all the devastating news all around. Take care, and stay safe, my friend!

  13. Jenna, what a hurricane! Did it have to be a girl’s name, she will definitely go down in history! We tied down or moved everything that was outside in preparation for the tropical storm strength of Irma! According to our man, James Spann it won’t be tropical storm strength now when it arrives here, but who knows for sure! My friends were able to be picked up yesterday in St. Maarten by a Royal Caribbean ship and are heading to Curaçao to hopefully fly home. They are so thankful to be alive. The devastation on the island is horrendous!

On a lighter note, your Pinktober tables are so fun and creative…bra and all! Stay safe my friend!

    • I have been thinking of you Pam and worrying about your garden! Hopefully Irma will wind down quickly. Your friends are very lucky, what a scary nightmare! It’s windy here but bright sunshine…

  14. Marilyn says:

Lovely tablescape. Everything is so pretty and elegant. Stay safe. Prayers for all in the hurricanes way.

Praying for a good outcome for you and friends and family! 💕❤️ Love the pink and your creative ideas! 😊

  16. I love your wonderful Pinktober ideas. The table is so beautiful.– the colors, dishes, everything is perfect. And glad the storm is over. What a harrowing time. Nice to bury yourself in a bit of pink.
