Home Decor, Sunny Sunflower Arrangement

Recently my husband retired and sold his dental practice and office to a really nice young dentist who continues to take care of our family

They treat me like royalty and won’t ever let me pay, so I brought them a little surprise

The staff all ooohhhed and aaahhhed and immediately ran to the Dr’s office to show him

He was thrilled and said, “I’m going to take this home to my wife tonight for brownie points”

Nothing better than getting paid in brownie points!

My grocery store, Publix, is usually full of good flowers at reasonable prices, you can’t beat 3 bunches for $12

2 bunches of sunflowers and 1 bunch of lacy greens…

Please forgive me, my garden buddies, I know there is a proper name for these,  but I just call it lacy green stuff…

Rubber bands are your best friends to keep top heavy blooms from tipping over

Before the lacy greens were added it looked just like an owl!  🦉

What a hoot!

The green helps break up all the bright bright yellow

Painting sunflowers is just a matter of a few strokes

Jenna, such a lovely arrangement and container. Publix, you can’t beat three for twelve. My go to for fresh flowers in a hurry. Lucky dentist wife, I’m sure she was thrilled and a smart dentist husband too, that arrangement got him a lot of brownie points. Congratulations to your husband on his retirement.

  6. I really have to get to your shop soon. Christmas is coming!

  7. Nice! And yes, it did sorta look like an owl before the lacy goldenrod. Congrats to your husband on his retirement! Now, your job is to find him something to keep him busy in retirement. 😉 It’s an adjustment, for sure.

  8. Lynn says:

Ha, ha, I kinda like the owl too:@) Have a great Sunday Jenna!

  9. Such a cheerful bouquet Jenna. How nice you get red carpet treatment at the dentist’s. 17 years after selling my practice, I do too and it never fails to make me feel great. Class acts these successors.

How very sweet of you to give the dentist a painted pitcher hand painted by you, Jenna! I’m sure his wife was thrilled with your creation and filled with such a pretty sunflower arrangement. Thanks for the tip about using a rubber band on those heavy stems! Yea for your dear hubby’s retirement!!

  16. Such a lovely gift. Sunflower is a sign of happiness. And, a great initiative to donate all sale amount for hurricane relief.

  17. I love the painted pitcher and the arrangement inside. SO PRETTY!!!! And I think you have some golden rod there….it looks like it, and at one time it was the State of Alabama’s official flower!

I think it’s so nice that your dentist is so kind, and I bet he learned lots from your husband! 😀

I love how you’re donating to hurricane relief. You are such a good soul!

    Have a wonderful week!
