Tablescapes, International Artist Day

Happy International Artist Day!

Please join me for a celebration!

“For over a decade International Artist Day has honored the contribution artists have and are making to society.
On IAD, October 25, take an artist to lunch, or buy that painting that’s been haunting you for the last month.
Visit a gallery, or go to the symphony. Participate in something creative outside your daily routine. Live Life!

I set this table in honor of all my friends and fellow artists to celebrate this special day

I hope you’ll take time to read and think about these quotes …

Even if you’re not an artist, I think you’ll leave inspired to pursue your passion

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see”

Edgar Degas

“You use a glass mirror to see your face;  you use art to see your soul”

George Bernard Shaw

“The only time I feel alive is when I’m painting”

Vincent Van Gogh

“The purpose of art is washing the dust from our souls”

Pablo Picasso

“Every artist was first an amateur”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Creativity is contagious, pass it on”

Albert Einstein

“Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment”

Claude Monet

“Creativity takes courage”

Henri Matisse

“Sometimes I just need to be alone with my art supplies”

unknown  {and me daily!}

“Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment”

  Mary Ann F. Kohl, author

“The secret to many artists living so long is that every painting is a new adventure.

So, you see, they’re always looking ahead to something new and exciting.

The secret is to not look back”

Norman Rockwell

Fill your world with art!

And remember

Take an artist to lunch today, or buy a piece of art to enjoy, look at an art book or art web site
Do something different and creative!

Happy IAD Day! (I had no idea.) Your table is perfect for creating while enjoying lunch with a friend or with hubs. That is if you let him near your stuff! “You toucha my stuff, I breaky you face!” Ha! I hope you enjoy your special celebration day!

  13. Jodi says:

I hope IAD and every day is one filled with joy for you. My favorite quote here is, “You use a glass mirror to see your face, you use art to see your soul. Insert the word -passion- for art and it’s all-encompassing. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story and we hope you will join us again next week.
