Holidays, Thanksgiving Menu

Thanksgiving is only a week away, have you finalized your menu?

I’ve been sipping eXtra strong coffee and drawing thinking rather than cooking this week

I want to come up with a Mouthwatering Menu

That is, of course, Fabulous, but balanced, with a few No Guilt  dishes

I want to Kick it Up

I also want to keep it simple, nothing too complicated to prepare, not too many Utensils

 So here’s what I’m thinking…

Start the day with some healthy Yogurt

We are having dinner at 5 so we will need a mid day nibble, like

Cranberry Walnut Pie Spirals

or maybe even a very thin Pizza

like this Butternut Squash Tart

Dinner will feature turkey of course

with several of these easy sides

Acorn Squash Glazed with Maple, Bleu & Pecans

or maybe Brussels Sprouts & Bacon Gratin

Slow Cooker Brown Butter Mashed Potatoes

or maybe non traditional Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes

Holiday Dressing with Focaccia, Cornbread & Sausage

or the not so traditional Orange Glazed Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Balls

Easiest Ever Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole

or the not so traditional Green Bean Bundle Salad

Southern Scalloped Pineapple

or maybe a non traditional Apple Pear & Walnut Galette

And dessert!!

HHjr wants to make a Cranberry Lemon Pie and I want to make these Chocolate Pecan Pie Cupcakes

Decisions Decisions!!

What is your favorite, “must have,” Thanksgiving dish?

Oh I can’t wait to hear about the cranberry lemon pie Jenna! It sounds like a real pucker-upper:@) Happy T-Day Planning!

  2. Just looking at the wonderful illustrations here makes me happy, Jenna! We’re dining out and I’m bringing the salad, Rick the bread. We’ll do it with the kids too, if we can ever get their acts together! (Ours of course, ALWAYS are! Right.)

  3. Jenna, the menu possibilities all sound delicious! So many choices! I agree with Lynn, I can’t wait to hear about the cranberry lemon pie! Happy Thursday!

    • I haven’t even seen the recipe, but it does sound refreshing after a heavy meal. We’re not much on pumpkin pie which is why we’re going non traditional for dessert…I’m just hoping he makes it!

  4. Oh, Jenna, my mouth is watering! My favorite would have to be those cranberry walnut little delights!!! I might not do those for Thanksgiving, but I am going to have to try those!

What an action packed post today…I love your fanciful and fun illustrations, and I’m viewing your post before breakfast and I want everything I see to eat. Have a great day.

  6. I bet those spirals would go perfectly with an ice cold glass of chardonnay! Everything looks delish Jenna. Enjoy your weekend.

FABULOUS drawings and lettering, Jenna!! 🎨👍💕 And all of your menu dishes look soooo good! Yum! 😊 I have a sweet potato dish I like to make that came from Bon Apetit magazine. I soak the raisens in burbon, and it uses maple syrup and pecans. Super yummy! 😍

  8. Mary says:

All your menu options sound delicious Jenna and I’m in agreement about the cranberry lemon pie! We’re celebrating with family on Saturday this year and still up in the air about turkey day. 🙂

  9. Jodi says:

O M G! HOW FUN! I love the coffee and pomegranate paintings!!!!

  10. What a fabulous post Jenna – I love all of it! My favorite growing up was butternut squash – yum. I cannot think of it without thinking of my mom and her wonderful turkey and all the wonderful sides and apple pie for dessert – home made with the roller! I can almost smell it now! Thanks Jenna!
