Tablescapes, Holiday Woodland

I seem to be decorating backwards this year 😂

Our tree is still in a bucket of water outside but the dining room table is ready for Christmas Eve!

Welcome to the annual Celebrate & Decorate Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop

Chloe keeps us hopping every season when she challenges our group to decorate and create tables early to share to inspire everyone

and it’s much appreciated by me, because it makes me get things done!

I wanted to use my Christmas Spode,

with a mix of woodland and an elegant mode

Clean and green with a touch of red

And a Merry truck with a tree in it’s bed

Personalized place cards sit in the forest of trees

And Santa’s nearby, noting all that he sees…

The children must be behaved, as it’s just Christmas Eve!

Our family tradition is to gather Christmas Eve

And if everyone is very good,

and if they still believe

They might just get to talk to Santa

Dropping in from the North Pole, via the airport in Atlanta!

That’s the story we tell them anyway,

since they wonder why he doesn’t arrive in his sleigh

the Waterford goblets will be replaced by then

This year’s group will number just one less than ten

The children come for lunch and then go on their way

And my Santa and I can enjoy the rest of the day

And settle into the night

by the twinkling lights

And for some additional ho ho ho

There’s a big ball of mistletoe!

I created a printable of the place cards I used,

and they would work well as tags for packages too!

You can download the printable for the tags here

Very pretty Jenna! G-Mom-B had a set of Spode… Sure wish I knew what happened to those dishes:@)

  2. Ann Krucek says:

What beautiful post! I enjoy the poetry telling your holiday happenings. Your table is very pretty but the photo that steals the show is the last one with all the children around Santa. That is precious!!!

  3. So cute, your rhyme for the post. Your woodland setting goes well with your Spode. I had that pattern for 30 years! Thanks for the printable.

  4. RS says:

Thank you for sharing your holiday lovelies! The last picture with children gathered around Santa is priceless.

  5. Jenna, what a great picture of the grands with Santa! You are truly blessed. And thank you for the printable – it was one of the features here I was going to comment on of how much I liked it (there, I said it!). I also love the table runner with trees, and lights especially. I know what you mean about feeling as though you’re doing things backwards. I have felt that way too, but the early decorating nudge has been helpful. Now I can focus on other things and enjoy some downtime in between.

  6. Your table looks positively stunning, Jenna. I love all the intricate details. I scrolled thru twice. Have a wonderful week, dear Jenna.

  7. Your table looks enchanting with all the trees! Cute poem, too, you are very clever!! Enjoy the season (and get that tree in the house!!)

  8. Jenna, I love seeing how you used your Christmas Spode. I have that pattern and I enjoy seeing different ways to accent it. It was clever to layer one square placemat on top of a rectangular sheer one. Your woodland theme is pretty and your personalized place cards are so pretty. Of course, I always get a kick out of your rhymes.
I didn’t realize you had that many grands!!!!

  9. Jenna, the grands with Santa photo is priceless! I love your forest of trees running down the center of your table highlighting the traditional Spode pattern that I have always loved! You are so clever with rhyme and always make your posts so much fun! Thank you for the printable that I will definitely use! I know your family loves your creativity and cooking skills, you amaze me at how you do it all!

    • Thanks Pam, I have lots of help around here…the grands are my 4 and HH’s sister has 7!! some of the grands are getting wise to Santa, the oldest ones are 9 and last year they followed him when he left, so we are going to have to talk to them in advance this year to make sure they don’t ruin it for the others…

  10. The various size trees as a centerpiece is so lovely along with all of the details like the truck, santas and placecards. The fairy lights make it so special and charming and so inviting. Your beautiful white sequin runny to perfect and adds so beautiful sparkle too. Lovely and cozy. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I so enjoyed this stop on the hop – it felt as though I was reading the Night Before Christmas! SO fun! I absolutely love your table – those birch wrapped trees are so pretty – and I love the little pops of nostalgia. Elegant-modern is a perfect description! Merry Christmas!

  12. wendy says:

You are so creative! Enjoyed your post and your table setting is so sweet! My favorite is the little camper with the tree on top.

  13. Mary says:

Jenna, I love your centerpiece with your forest of trees. It’s especially beautiful illuminated at night! You know I’m fond of trucks with trees in their bed and I have always loved Spode, it’s such a pretty and classic pattern. I know what you mean about doing things backwards, I decorated the tree over Thanksgiving and then turned around and removed my Santa car ornaments for my Merry Motoring table…not very good planning on my part.
I’ve always loved seeing your Grands with Santa. Even if they no longer believe that Santa flies in from the airport one day, I hope they always believe in the magic of Christmas.🎄

    • Thank you Mary~ we did finally get out tree up yesterday and are feeling less upside down! We are going to talk to the 2 oldest boys {9} they pretty much figured the Santa thing out last year as they tried to follow him when he left, he had to get real sneaky to get away!

  14. Carol says:

Jenna, I love those tall woodsy Christmas trees in the center of the table. And your Christmas dishes are always so pretty. The little truck and Santas just add such a sweet whimsical feel. Happy to be on the blog hop with you again.

  15. pattyanneart says:

Your table is gorgeous. I always love to see Spode dishes and the way you have displayed them is so pretty. Your centerpiece of trees looks amazing.

  17. Tammy says:

I love the different bottle brush trees! They are so hard for me to resist. I am drawn to them every time I see them in the stores! So fun being a part of this hop with you!

  18. Anonymous says:

An enchanted forest graces your table, Jenna. The poem is a delight, and I adore the picture of your darling grands. I am still decking the halls—backward. But I am enjoying the season tremendously. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Beautiful tablescape and amazing poetry! Bravo!

  25. Lori says:

I really enjoyed seeing all the little fun things tucked in your forest of trees – what a terrific centerpiece! Your rhyme was terrific and you were very creative to be able to match it to each pic. Your evening pics with the pretty glow are lovely and so inviting. The Spode plates look wonderful and go perfectly with the tablescape. Very fun stopping here on the Blog Hop!

  26. Kitty says:

What a darling table, Jenna! The forest of trees makes for such a pretty centerpiece, and I love the truck and the camper. The sitting place cards are such a cute idea. Thank you for the printable for us to use, too. As always, your poem was fun for me to read! Thank you for sharing your beautiful table with us.

  27. love your table. You have created a winter wonderland with trees of different heights, textures, and interest. You offer so many visual details to check out. Merry Christmas

  28. Lovely as always – beautiful!!

  29. Lynn Spencer says:

What a lovely and poetic post and a reminder of the simple joys of the season. And that photo of Santa distributing gifts is so sweet…a keeper for sure. Have a very Merry Christmas with all your loved ones, and your Santa!

    Hugs, LYnn

Your decorating style is fabulous Jenna! ❤️ All looks so festive and elegant and fun – mixed into one! 🌟🎄🌟

  31. Thank you very much for being part of the Christmas tablescape blog hop. I love the variety of white cone-like Christmas trees adorning your centerpiece. They are so pretty and the different textures and heights work so well together, just lovely!

  32. Your table is beautiful! I love your mix of Woodland and elegant. I got my trees up early this year, I managed to put up three of them, but I have done nothing by way of a lovely table setting. I have a lot of things to use this year, I just can’t seem to make myself put it together on a table. Hopefully your beautiful one it will inspire me. Have a wonderful holiday season.

    • Thank you Pattie, and I can relate, some times I’m just not in the mood so I just don’t worry about it until I am…I’m sure you will put together a wonderful table with all your pretty things~ I am so impressed with the way you have maintained a positive attitude and keep sharing your wonderful recipes, home decor and tables even though I know your heart is sad and missing your husband, especially during the holidays. I’m sure you will be with some Merry family and friends~

  33. I love seeing all the beautiful trees on your table, along with that bright red truck. I’ve never had Christmas dishes, don’t know why but I’m thinking I need to get some. I love the photo at the bottom with Santa and all the kiddies. Nice meeting you from this blog hop!

  34. Linda says:

Jenna, how adorable this is. The children with Santa is priceless. Love your cute wreath tags. The trees are magical all lined up on your gorgeous table. Truly a festive table to enjoy. Happy birthday to you. xo

  35. Miz Helen says:

Your Woodland tablescape is perfect for your lovely Spode china. Your table looks beautiful and like a winter woodland. Of course the best of all is all the little ones with Santa! Hope you have a great week and thanks so much for the party!
    Merry Christmas,
    Miz Helen
