Tablescapes, Sugar Bowl Santa

We have had quite a Christmas in Alabama this year

After a devastating loss to our arch rival, Auburn, in the Iron Bowl,

we thought our football season was over  😢

Then we got an early Christmas present Dec. 6 when it was announced that Alabama was voted #4 in the country and going to the Sugar Bowl  🎉

We got a taste of a White Christmas with 6 inches of snow

We had a surprise visitor

And a deep freeze on the coast

Cookies of coal

And of course,  the Sugar Bowl!

It was a very Happy New Year when the Tide rolled over the Clemson Tigers!  🍾

We had a cozy celebration with a Sugar Bowl Santa table for 2

We nibbled

We noshed

We sipped

We cheered, by gosh!

Santa waved

Fans raved

The Crimson Tide was filled with Pride!

The beer was cold

And the Tide Rolled!

And here’s another sweet Christmas story…

“Hey Gigi,” said Super Boy {9}, “I’m painting glasses for my Dad and PapaDoc for Christmas”

Oh goodness, can you think of anything more heart-catching than your grandchild being inspired by something you do??? Super Boy  has watched me paint glassware his whole life, but this took me by complete surprise!!

“My mom bought the special glass paint and everything!”

really?

“I was just wondering if you had any tips for me?”

“Hmmmm,” I thought, “make sure you tell your mom to bake it in a cold oven and then after the baking time is up, turn the oven off and let the glasses cool down before taking them out”

“Okay, thanks Gigi, I’ll tell my mom!”

Here’s the best part, he spelled PapaDoc, PapaDock…

HH {Papadoc} said, “Well, now that I’m retired and live at the beach, I think that’s better!

What a sweet holiday we had!

I hope your 2018 is as sweet as sugar!
