Take-out Tuesday, Cheesy Bacon Party Burgers
Posted by the Painted Apron on February 20, 2018 · 27 Comments

Have you been watching the winter Olympics?
Whenever I see people waving our flag proudly it reminds me of summer
which leads to lusting for a juicy summer hamburger!
This recipe is perfect for a crowd or for your family
And you can make it in any season, because you can cook the whole dish in your kitchen
This recipe is adapted from Kevin and Amanda and here is the secret they shared:
Put your meat in a very hot skillet, leaving whole in the block from the package. Quickly sear bottom, then flip to sear the other side. This gets a nice caramelization going for flavor
Quickly turn burner down to medium and continue to cook and stir meat until it is crumbly and no longer pink
Season meat with a dash or two of your favorite steak sauce or Worcestershire, and a little steak seasoning
I used Dale’s Steak Sauce and McCormick’s Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning
Dale’s is a Birmingham, Alabama tradition, the creation of a local restaurant in 1946, and it’s the best marinade/seasoning you can ever have. I use it in stews, pot roast, on chicken and yes, steak!
Dale’s is available on Amazon here also available in low sodium here
After seasoning, stir in half the cheese which will help bind it together
Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and put in the bun bottoms
Top evenly with cheesy meat
Now pile on the bacon
Top each burger with a piece of cheese
Cover with bun tops
Make the sauce
Brush or slowly pour the sauce over each bun top and sprinkle with sesame seeds
Cover loosely with foil and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or refrigerate to cook later
These were a big hit with all ages!
So even if your grill is covered with snow you can still have a juicy burger!!
Cheesy Bacon Party Burgers
Ingredients
- 12 slider buns* sliced
- Ground beef I used 80/20 ground chuck
- dash or two Dale’s Steak Sauce or any steak sauce, or Worcestershire Sauce
- Monterey Steak Seasoning steak seasoning, or salt, pepper, garlic powder
- 12 thick slices Cheddar Cheese
- 6-8 slices bacon
Burger Sauce
- 4 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. mustard I used honey dijon
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cook bacon until crisp. Remove to paper towels and drain. Pour off all but 1 T bacon grease.
- Sear the meat by cooking in one whole block, on high, 1-2 minutes until brown and flip over and sear the other side.
- Lower heat to medium, and cook and stir until crumbled and all meat is cooked through.
- Lower heat to medium low and add 1/2 of the cheese, broken into small pieces, cooking and stirring until it’s melted in. Season with a dash of Dale’s and Montreal Steak Seasoning.
- Place roll bottoms in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Break bacon strips into 2-3 pieces. Top bun bottoms evenly with meat and a couple pieces of bacon. Place cheese overall and place bun tops over cheese.
- Cover loosely with foil and refrigerate until baking later if desired.
- Bake at 350, loosely covered, for 25 minutes or until hot and melty
Burger Sauce
- Combine glaze ingredients in a small sauce pan and cook over medium until melted and combined. Brush liberally over bun tops.
Notes
I’m pinning this to my football food board
Variations:
I kept this kid friendly but you can also add chopped onions or sweet peppers to these burgers, and cook them in the bacon fat before you sear the meat.
This recipe was adapted from Kevin and Amanda’s Diamond Burgers which are a spicy version, made with a can of Rotel tomatoes and green chilies. I used their sauce recipe but divided it in half so the burgers would have the flavor but not be soggy. See their recipe here
Enjoy!

Jenna, this looks amazing. I so agree about Dale’s, I use it as a marinade on chicken for the grill. The cheesy bacon is the perfect topping and anything with bacon, my family loves!
Yes, don’t you feel sorry for the parts of the country that can’t get Dale’s 🙂
LOVE this idea! Helping our gang move this weekend. I am in charge of feeding the hungry mover guys, so this may just be the ticket!
You can even make it Friday night and then cook it Sat, don’t work too hard!
Hey Jenna – I’m making mini hamburgers tonight, minus the bacon…haha
I swear I think I eat burgers just for the bacon 🙂
Oh boy, does this look good! Pinning for sure! Also putting this on my potluck board for ideas for our church dinners~ thanks Jenna!
This would make a great pot luck dish Cyndi!
Your burgers look delicious Jenna! Love the burger painting too. Burgers are a favorite summertime treat here. Got to have one soon with this 79 degree day…..
I know, can you believe these temps, it was 82 here today!! Flowers are blooming everywhere!
This is working for me! Really great for a crowd where everyone gets their hot burger at the same time!
Exactly!
Simple enough and nothing beats a burger with bacon and cheese. Oh, and maybe some carmelized onions.
Yes, definitely caramelized onions, yum! I left them out since I was feeding the little boys…
Mmmmm these sound so terrific, Jenna! I make a similar one, but it has some mayo in the ingredients, and they taste similar to White Castles. I know I’d this version with that yummy sauce on top. I’ll have to make these soon!
Oh I would love the mayo addition Kitty, I will try that next time, thanks!
Delicious looking and much quicker than making hamburger patties. YUM!
Thanks Bonnie!
What a great idea for a party! 🍔 Now I’m really looking forward to summer!! Looks delish, Jenna!
Gosh those look and sound good! They remind me of the King Hawaiian ham & cheese sliders in the method. As Austin Powers’ fat b___ would say, “Get in my belly!”
🤣
That’s a fun take on hamburgers Jenna-Go USA!!!:@)
Your sliders are perfect game day fare Jenna!
I just pinned your delicious Party Burgers, these will be great for the March Madness. Your post is awesome and thanks so much for sharing it with us at Full Plate Thursday. Have a great week and come back to see us real soon!
