The Importance of Water

I had a crazy couple of days a few weeks ago

crazy bead bowl

There were a lot of things going on and I was frazzled

hand painted needlepoint canvas

One morning I felt extra weird, as in melt down, should I call 911 weird…

I did some deep breathing and calmed down and then I was fine

cool calm and collected

The next day it happened again

heartbeat

All of a sudden my heartbeat was all over the place

And then again, after a while, everything was calm again…

But the next day, the feeling came back and it started building…

peacock dreams

Up and down and swirling around and I called the Dr…

He sent me for tests…

And after  x-rays, a brain scan, blood work, blood pressure checks and lots of other scary stuff, guess what he said?

I was preparing the the worst

“You’re dehydrated.”

😳

“What?”

“Yep,” he said, “we’re going to pump some fluids in you and then you’ll be good to go!”

I couldn’t believe it…

I started seeing a rainbow…

I had semi packed a bag to go to the hospital…

I had rearranged things, cancelled appointments, and thought about what this could mean going into the future…

And all I needed was water…

Let me share some things I learned from this experience

I am a huge water drinker.  I don’t drink anything else except coffee in the morning and wine in the evening.  No soda, no tea, nothing but water.  Even though I carry water around with me all day, I really wasn’t drinking much, just taking a sip now and then.

Here are the symptoms I was having:

headaches, fatigue, tingling, numbness, increased heart rate, lack of appetite, borderline dizziness, shaky, sudden intense thirst*

And all I needed was more water.

Was I relieved?? YES!

Did I feel STUPID? YES!

The nurse said, “You would be amazed at how many people come in dehydrated, don’t worry about it, we’re just glad it’s nothing serious.”

*All of these things can be symptoms of much more serious problems, so DON’T IGNORE THEM, please see a Dr. immediately

Cheers to the magic of water!

I plan on making a huge dent in this water tower in the future!
