With the kitchen freshly painted I wanted to change out the art work
make it more masculine, a “chef’s kitchen”
The florals came down and up went some framed watercolors of food
HH and HHjr both love to cook so I have learned to share
A plump ice cream sundae pillow sits on the chair by the stairs
I found this rustic sign on clearance at Hobby Lobby
Now, I’m not going all farmhouse rustic here,
but I couldn’t resist this chicken with nails for feet
and the galvanized pig silhouette
There’s a lot of pork that comes out of this kitchen!
I did this chefs painting when HHjr developed a passion for cooking
This wall is adjacent to the area I use as my studio
This drippy vignette disguises the cords running down the wall from the TV
The drippy bucket is a catch all for all the remotes
and the old plastic kleenex box cover got a face lift
HH says I will paint anything that doesn’t move…
This is inexpensive chalky paint from the craft store,
slap on a few coats until the surface is covered to your liking
Now the fun begins!
Using a popsicle stick, dip and drizzle!
You’ve got to be fearless here, if you try too hard or hesitate
it won’t create an effortless natural dripping effect
You can easily redecorate and update any area simply by changing out the artwork
Using Command Strips to hang lighter pictures
makes it possible to remove them without wall damage
These strips are widely available, in many different sizes for various weights
Be Fearless and move some art around
or give something a funky face lift!
Here are some other household things you can recreate with a little paint

Love your fearless approach and ideas Jenna! Great, fun kitchen redo!
Wonderful collection of foodie art, the chef’s painting is marvelous.
Thank you Carole!
There is so much to love here, Jenna. At first, I thought it was your stairway wall. And then I saw your shelves with the colorful legs and the drippy pieces and fell in love. And then noticed all the wondrous detail in Mr. Apron’s tribute painting and thought — “that says it all.” I love the look, every idea and the finished bits. And I know what good food will come out of it with all the additional inspiration!
Thank you Jeanie, I love the new look, and redoing things made me reduce clutter so the whole space feels more organized and fresh…always a good feeling!
Your home looks amazing with your art pieces! I love your gallery on the stairs!! It’s so nice that you have your own work to add to your home. I know your family loves it.
