Recipe Box, Kentucky Derby Pecan Delights

These were inspired by a recipe I pinned from Half Baked Harvest

I decided to shorten it up a bit…

I used a crescent roll dough sheet for the crust, but you can substitute graham crackers or crushed shortbread cookies mixed with melted butter if you prefer

Place dough sheet {or crescent roll dough} in a greased 9″ x 13″ baking dish and prick all over with a fork

Or, even better, line the dish with parchment paper and then you can lift the cooled baked bars right out of the dish for easy cutting and serving

Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes until it just begins to turn golden

Top with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and sprinkle with chia seeds

This is a great recipe for adding chia,  you won’t know it’s in there, and it will add some nutrition to these sinful treats!

Pecans

This Slow & Low Rock and Rye is our favorite whiskey and not only does it taste good,  the bottles are so cool!

It’s actually made in PA, but let’s pretend this is Kentucky bourbon 😂

If you can’t find chocolate sweetened condensed milk, you can add a squirt of chocolate syrup to the milk and if you want a less

chocolatey bar, use regular sweeetned condensed milk

A sea of chocolate!

It smells amazing  😋

Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel for a real wow factor
