Home Decor, Fresh Centerpieces for the Holidays

My sister-in-law is very high energy and super organized, and when we had lunch the other day she told me that she was just about finished with her Christmas shopping…

šŸ˜µ

She is in charge of table centerpiecesĀ for a neighborhood holiday party and asked me to help her with holiday centerpiece ideas

MacKenzie-Childs Inspired Fall Centerpiece

So even though I know a lot of people get upset about talking Christmas before Thanksgiving, much less Halloween, it is my duty as a blogger to prepare you for the holidays way ahead of time, because they are coming!

Cotton Pickin’ Pumpkins

We can talk about Thanksgiving and Christmas and still have plenty of Halloween fun!

Witches Wicked Candlelight Supper

Thanksgiving X 2

It is important to keep centerpieces low to promote conversation, but you can add height with candlesticks or decorations hanging from above

Eat, Drink and Be Scary!

The September Sunflower table runner can easily be transformed for Thanksgiving by adding a small turkey or two, gourds, orange pumpkins and Indian corn

September Sunflowers

One of my favorite centerpieces was this one from Thanksgiving several years ago, a mixture of real and faux elements

Even more dramatic at night with battery operated tiny lights woven throughout

Thanksgiving Tables, Gobble Gobble

This year for Thanksgiving one of my BFFs said she is going to make a flower arrangement on a pumpkin for the center of her table inspired by my recent Birthday Bouquet Pumpkin

She actually hadn’t decorated for fall at all and after coming to my house last weekend and reading my blog posts she went out and bought pumpkins!

This made me soooo happy!

I think a floral Thanksgiving pumpkin a great idea, and I might just have to do that too!

A Turkey Pumpkin for the side board or buffet table is unexpected fun…

IĀ  suggested using fresh greens with bright red apples, pomegranates, berries, pine cones etc. to my SIL to make a beautiful centerpiece or table runner…and don’t you love the gorgeous ribbon weaving through this mantel garland from Southern Lady magazine

We are going to get together and do a mock up and play with different arrangements soon, I can’t wait!

Mary from Home is Where the Boat is used candles and big shiny ornaments with her apples and other natural elements on a festive plaid cloth

I think fresh elements in a runner or tablescape make such an impact, plus you can eat them too!

Thanksgiving X 2

Trays make a great base for centerpieces and table runners

My sister is very high energy and super organized too, and pretty sure she is done with her Christmas shopping also. She will even offer to do mine if I don’t hurry up…lol. I may be stealing your buffalo plaid idea for Thanksgiving.

  10. What stunning centerpieces! I always love your decor and tablescapes. The MacKenzie Childs-inspired is wonderful, but that witch feet chandelier wins the prize!

I like all of them – let me say that up front. I’m crazy for fresh flowers. I have several favs – the first floral centerpiece is just lovely. You got me with all the cute animals in the MacKenzie Childs inspired arrangement. Wow! I’m basically a simple decorator so my all time fav is the fresh flowers in the pumpkin. Great post!

  12. Sandra Garth says:

Pick one, any one, they’re all gorgeous!
