Tales of the Traveling Tote, Where In the World …

Hello!

Welcome to  “Where in the World …”

a new Tales of the Traveling Tote adventure!

The Tales of the Traveling Tote group is made up of 12 McKenzie-Childs loving ladies who all happen to have the same tote bag that we love to photograph in various places

Back in the Fall, our clever leader Patti suggested we take a favorite MacKenzie-Childs cup or plate on our travels to photograph, and ask our readers to guess where in the world we are.  That sounded fun to me, not to mention an excuse to treat myself to a new piece of tableware from MKC…

I have a large MKC vase which I love

And several serving pieces

And this precious pig

I have painted glasses in a copycat MKC style

And now I have my very own special glass,

a wine glass from the Pheasant Run collection

Have you any clue as to where I might be?

Or who I might be with?

Two very special friends joined me

For a little MKC fun!

We took photos outside by the pizza oven

and shared a little Bama love

Emily brought MKC plates for our lunch buffet

All in all it was quite a day!

We exchanged some goodies and a few Valentine’s

We had a leisurely meal, it was the best of times!

I had so much fun setting things up for our simple lunch

Antipasto Skewers and other goodies to munch

We had our lunch in the dining room

And the time to depart came much too soon!

A quick bite of dessert surely won’t hurt!

I showed my friends my very favorite place to sit

Where I have much loved art supplies right at my finger tips!

Thank you Emily and Ricki Jill for coming this day,

we are so blessed to live close and can get together and play!

Where in the world I am is easy to see,

Home Sweet Home

is the best place for me!

Jenna, It was delightful to spend time with you and Ricki Jill in your beautiful home. Lunch was delicious and especially fun served up on all your MacKenzie-Childs serving pieces. I loved touring your gorgeous home and the space where you are inspired to paint. I see talent runs in the family, the outdoor fireplace and pizza oven your son built is amazing. You two could could go into business! Thanks Jeanna for a fun filled time……..

    • Thank YOU Emily, thank you for coming and bringing your plates and goodies! The daffodils are in full bloom now and so bright and Spring like! We always have so much fun and time flies…let’s do it again soon!

Awww, now I’m really green with envy over my tribe’s travels! You three are so lucky to live close enough together to have shared that fun! Love your lunch spread, complete with each of your unique drink vessels and, of course, all the dinner and serveware. You know I was with you all in spirit, just coming up for air to visit. xo

Hi Jenna, you have such beautiful pieces by MC! I love that you had your luncheon with your friends in your home using your MC china. I enjoyed looking at the photos and reading this post. Have a fun weekend and enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday.

What fun to get together with Emily and Ricki Jill for a wonderful lunch at your place. I do believe that MKC should hire you to do some of their painting. You’re so talented!

    • oh thank you Kitty! and yes we had a very fun day! Ricki Jill only lives 15 minutes from me, but Emily is an hour away…but she comes to Birmingham all the time to shop so we try to have lunch every month or so, it’s a lot of fun 🙂

  12. Mary says:

How fun you three are all so close by Jenna! I know your lunch was full of fun conversation and delicious food! Love your Courtly Check blooms! ♥

  13. Cyndi Raines says:

What a special day, meeting friends, eating good food and a few laughs! A good day indeed!

  14. Jenna, how much fun you three had with delicious food, fellowship and MKC. Do you play piano, I have never seen your piano? An enquiring mind needs to know. Have a great weekend!

    • I took the photo with the piano trying to be mysterious because I knew hadn’t shared that room on the blog very often, but no I don’t play, HH did and I am hoping my 6 year old grandson will take lessons. He seems interested. My son plays guitar, and his oldest is taking guitar lessons now and Eli can play the violin. We have a good friend that comes over and plays, it fills the whole house with such a wonderful sound, I love it. The piano is a 1907 Steinway that I inherited from my Aunt years ago and HH had it restored. It has original real ivory keys, a very special piece. Enjoy this beautiful day!

You lucky gals!! Glad you live close enough that you can get together and share a little Bama love! I can feel the love all the way from NY 🙂 Patti and I chat daily and we only live about an hour from each other which is nice.

I’m glad you showed your beautiful piano. My next door neighbor plays the piano, and I love listening to her!

How nice that your TTT friends can enjoy your new outdoor kitchen and pizza oven. I love your new goblet Enjoy your Sunday Jenna. xo
