Asparagus Party Sandwiches from the Painted Apron archives can be made ahead and frozen.  I like to make a batch and freeze them individually, that way I can pull one out and grill it like a grilled cheese or bake it in the oven for a quick and easy meal.

Cut into bite size pieces for a yummy appetizer

Boudin King Cake from Acadiana Table was the inspiration for Italian Sandwich Ring with Smokey Pimiento Cheese

You can freeze leftovers to enjoy another time and bake wrapped in foil to reheat

    a yummy pineapple month ahead!

  2. I just bought asparagus at the market yesterday! Those cute little sandwiches would be a fun way to introduce kids to asparagus (which I hated until I was 40… because it just wasn’t cooked right!)

  3. Pineapple is a favorite! I can always count on you for beautiful food and fabulous recipes. I am excited that you included my Mama’s lemon cheesecake. It is so good! Happy Sunday, Jenna!

I love pineapple Jenna, the so refreshing taste to me. Yes, I hope we have beautiful weather ahead after all the cold rain. Seems March came and disappeared with the wind, in a flash! All the recipes sounds so delicious and the pineapple rum cake would be delicious with my coffee. I can’t wait to make your asparagus sandwiches and roasted radishes. Enjoy your Sunday.

  5. Nancy says:

Oh how I look forward to your posts! Delicious recipes and paintings too!

Lemon yumminess and now pineapple! 😊

  6. Jill Kuhn says:

We eat a lot of pineapple so I look forward to your recipes for April! 😊 One of my favorite ways to cook it is on the grill. Kind of carmelizes it. I like your pineapple painting too, Jenna! 💗

  7. Happy Pineapple Month Jenna! Looks like you’ll be eating well, enjoy the nicer weather:@)

  8. Julie says:

I love all of these nice recipes and thanks for sharing them. I like the one with cooking the bacon and veggies on the sheet pan all at once. I will have to try that one.
    Have a nice week Jenna.
    Hugs, Julie

  9. Benita says:

Pineapple is not one of my favorite fruits to eat alone, but I do love it in recipes! Can’t wait to see what all you share for April! Send rain to Texas. I’m afraid we are in for a drought this year. We’ve not had as much rain and that is never a good sign for the summer! Hugs!

    • Oh no! It’s supposed to rain Thurs-Tuesday, I wish it would go your way! I agree, I love pineapple in things rather than alone, and I love it paired with something savory…
