Tablescapes, Cactus For Cinco de Mayo

Next Sunday is May 5, Cinco de Mayo

Let’s celebrate with cactus and a Fry-Tot-To!

Come join me with a cactus themed table on the patio

I have a sudden thing for all things cactus

They’re fun to paint with just a little practice

tutorial here

The table is full of faux cacti and small plates that feature

4 different festive kooky cacti creatures!

Some cacti have jewelry or a sporty hat

Some carry purses

How silly is that!!

There is a small dish for salsa on each plate stack

A trio of bowls ready to be filled with snacks

Do you see the sombreros over there by the grill

I want guests to wear them,

do you think they will?

Sombreros are handy for serving up chips

Sombrero cookies can be made in a zip!

This faux cactus is a quick fun craft,

The cactus is painted with acrylic in several shades of green

Painted white pricks and glued orange paper flowers

The pot was painted with shades of terra cotta

“Dirt” was added with dabs of browns

What is your favorite Mexican dish?

Here are some traditional favorites with a twist!

Olé!

Chili Lime Corn & Queso Nachos

Zucchini & Corn Cheesy Enchiladas

Taco Bread Boat

Spicy Pot Roast Taquitos

Strawberry Margarita Dessert Tacos

delicioso !
