Tablescapes, Quiet Little Beach Town

Summer weekends on the coast are wild and crazy

But Mondays are nice and quiet, and somewhat lazy

Things seem to settle down in my little beach town

After a house full of guests it’s nice to have no one around

There are still plenty of vactioners here

But I watch from afar, they’re not very near

I kick off my shoes and sit back and relax

In just a few days, my group will be back

Until then I’m a mermaid, free to swim in the sea

I can do what I want, I can just be

A good book to read and a glass of chilled wine

The summer sun shining, it’s quite divine!

The palm trees sway gently in a lovely breeze

I look out and enjoy the turquoise blue seas

I hear ya Jenna…we love all the company, but it can be so relaxing when they leave… yet always looking forward to when they return. Hugs from one beach fan to another.

    Your beach get-away is divine!

Such a creative table setting perfectly describing life at the beach. I hope to visit Gulf Shores/Orange Beach sometime in the Fall. If you are beaching we’ll definitely have to go to lunch Jeanna.

You started my day off nicely with your rhymes and pretty tablescape. Enjoy the respite.

What I love most at the lake is the week — not the weekend! The weekend (which usually begins Friday noon and is in full force by dinner time) ends Sundays around 4 or 5 and after it is so quiet for a few days. Yes, vacationers, but fewer of them. I love everything in this delightful post. Especially that blue!

I am on my way! But I want the Monday traffic too!! What a lovely spot. It is so fun to have guests, but nice to have your home quiet too. I saw those plates last year. They are so darling. You have done such a cute job with the birdhouses and beach decor. I felt relaxed just looking at the table. Do you ever keep it set overnight just to enjoy?

  12. Jenna, Alabama’s beautiful Orange Beach!!! Love all the images and rhyme, and the lovely tablescape is divine! Enjoy a quiet and peaceful respite!

  13. Karen says:

Your time spent in your beach town reminds me of our time at the lake in Maine. Weekends on the water were so busy and then it quieted down a little during the week. Here in our little beach town in Florida, summer starts our quiet time as it is a seasonal town and the snowbirds have gone north. 🙂

Meant to mention how talented you are, I enjoyed your tutorial on how you decorated your forks. I’m going to try and do something similar with some serving spoons. Does the glue hold up well to hand washing?

All so beautiful, love those colors! 💚💙☀️
    Looks so relaxing 😊

This is SO adorable and clever Jenna! I love the ‘beach town’ you created with your birdcage / house and chair! I know you must enjoy a quiet house after the hustle and bustle of the weekend with guests. Enjoy those blue water views with your paintbrush and a glass of wine! 🐚🌊🎨🍷

  17. Benita says:

Love your poem and beautiful table! I would never want to leave with those views! Hugs!

  18. Jodi says:

    so lovely!

  19. Cyndi Raines says:

Awesome table and what a view! It is still on my list to make those forks one day. Everytime I see them, I want them, lol. Rest Miss Jenna, the weekend will soon be here and you’ll be packing them in again for more fun at your beautiful beach house! 🐚🐟☀️🐠

  20. Beth Wilson says:

Love those octopus plates! Such a cute table!

  21. Marsha says:

I always enjoy your beautiful outdoor tablesettings among the gorgeous views. So fun and relaxing. It is so fun to watch others enjoy it, but it is the perfect setting to have all for yourself with a glass of wine and plenty of sunshine and breezes. I love the seashell and sea glass flatware and all the other beach decor in such beautiful blue colors. Gorgeous. Enjoy the moment.
