Tablescapes, Birds of Paradise

Hurricane Barry chased me off the coast for a week or so, our area didn’t experience any effects except rain, but sincere prayers go out to everyone impacted by the terrible flooding and destruction that occurred and is still occurring…

One of the first things I like to do when I get back to the “city” is to see what’s happening at Trader Joe’s

A huge display of tropical flowers was hard to miss

And even harder to resist!

I tied orange sashes on the back of the chairs

And gathered tropical bright things from here and from there

Orange napkins compliment the Birds of Paradise

Altogether I thought it looked very nice

The flowers are gorgeous, they really do sing

Welcome to the tropics and the exotic feel that they bring!

The temps this week have had quite a tropical feel

Highs near 100 and the humidity is unreal!

I hope to soon return to the coast,

That’s the place I love to be most!

I hope you’re having a wonderful summer!

Juicy Details

I used pink alstromeria to fill in the tropical flower arrangement

I’m not able to source anything on the table, all the tableware are things I’ve had for a long time

Sorry you are missing the coast, but so happy you created a bird of paradise “tablescape.” It brightened up a dark, rainy afternoon here in Georgia. Hope you are back to your happy place very soon–of course with some of your “babies” dropping by.

Jenna, since you can’t be at the beach you certainly created the tropics in the city home. Perfect for this lovely space with all the light coming in the windows, I love this space. Beautiful colors, love the orange ties on the chairs. With this heat and humidity I feel like I’m in the tropics!

    • thank you Emily, I have really enjoyed these bright flowers! Our power went out for 3 hours the other morning and I thought it was really going to feel like the tropics inside my house, but luckily it came back on before things got hot! Stay cool 😅

  14. Mary says:

Gorgeous blooms Jenna! I would so love to have a TJ’s near me.It is so blooming hot, humid and dry I’m afraid all the garden (and me!) is going shrivel up and die. Stay cool ♥

I love those orange plates with the green! What a beautiful contrast! Glad you guys were safe from the hurricane…I hate those things. Not sure what is worse…hurricane or tornado…they both do so much damage! Hugs!

  17. Love the drama the tropical flowers bring! Your plates and linens are great accompaniments. I’m glad you went bold with color! The dragonfly rings are calling my name…
