Party Panche, Peppermint Candyland Cake

I have been having a very festive birthday week!

It kicked off with a wonderful dinner at a long time BFF’s house

She had quite a candle on my birthday cake plate!

I also made a cake for my family to enjoy after tree decorating last night

The little one’s eyes were popping!

This cake is easy to make

The batter is divided into two bowls

Half the batter is turned to peppermint

with food coloring and peppermint extract

and a dash of vanilla goes into the white batter

Place the vanilla batter in a well greased* bundt pan

Top with peppermint batter

Swirl with the tip of a sharp knife

*Tip:  Grease your pan right before you fill it.  If you grease the pan too early it can slide down the sides and you might not get the results you want.  I also have good results using Baker’s Joy in a spray can

This is the cake after baking

Heat cream and add white chocolate

Poke cooled cake all over with a long skewer

Slowly pour ganache all over top of cake,

letting it puddle in the middle and drizzle down the sides

Top immediately with candy

I used a holiday candy mix I got from Target

and chopped peppermint bark for garnish

When serving, be sure to scoop up the ganache on the cake plate too

It’s Elf approved!
