Fearless Friday, Penguin Love

Who can resist cute penguins?

I just love the way they proudly strut around

The photo is from Unsplash

It’s a free photo sharing site that I often use for painting and drawing

Let’s recreate these adorable penguins today

I chose the two on the right that look like they are speaking to each other

and holding hands {wings?}

After drawing the basic shapes in pencil,

I went back over the drawing with a .03 waterproof black liner pen

adding head and facial details

Then I filled in the black areas with a marker brush pen

and began to add color

Shadows were added in the white areas with shades of gray markers

and pink for their feet and wings

Flicks and spritz of ice cool blue watercolor

and more details with black and white fine liner pens

“Penguin Love!”

“Penguin Love” is available on a variety of items in my Society 6 Shop here

Have fun, stay cozy and Be Fearless!

  1. Good morning Jenna. There is something so adorable about penguins and you captured their sweetness so well. Hope you stay cozy and warm on this rainy and gray day. The hubby and I are making a little trip to Birmingham today to finish up our shopping🎅🏻🤶🏻

Jenna, your tutorials are so enlightening. I’m amazed how you can break it down to teach us how to draw and paint. Penguins are so cute to watch, and their tuxedo like covering always makes me smile. My new MKC ornament addition to our tree this year is a pair of the penquin ornaments that I bought on sale after Christmas last year. They are regal, each wearing a crown.

Too cute! You have captured their cuteness totally! Great job Jenna! 🎄
