Fearless Friday, Art Challenges

I participated in the January art challenge sponsored by Doodlewash
Art challenges are a wonderful way to push yourself,
try new things, experiment, tap into your creativity…
“Marbles” 5″ x 4″ watercolor and ink on mixed media paper
And best of all, you might just surprise yourself!!
“Lava Lamp” 6″ x 4″ paint pens, gel pens, colored pencil on black smooth surface paper
The daily prompts pushed me to draw/paint subjects I normally wouldn’t choose,
like the Lava Lamp above
Doing different subjects ended up not only being fun,
it is a real confidence builder
“Rain Forest” 4″ x 6″ paint pens, gel pens on black smooth surface paper
I used a variety of mediums, techniques and paper
and experimented with different types art supplies
Some days I spent more time than others, and really tried to keep up daily*
Notes:
*most of these drawings/paintings are small, which makes them faster to complete…it’s amazing what you can do in 5-10 minutes
I encourage you to have a place in your home where you have your sketchbook and supplies handy, this will really help save precious time, and make it easier to create frequently
“Tangerines”, 5″ x 5″ markers, colored pencils, ink
Here are the drawings/paintings and the prompts from Jan 1-31
I tried to do something unexpected from most of the prompts,
which is another way to add to the fun
Balloons {hot air balloon}, macarons, flowers, marbles, grapefruit {color of some of the amaryllis leaves}
seashells, lava lamp, parrot, eyes {peacock feather}, crayons {colored pencils}
carrots {bunny holding carrot}, cactus, donuts, duck, skies
lemons, chameleon {colored butterfly}, banana {with banana tree}, blue bird {peacock}, butterflies
oranges {tangerines}, dessert, flamingo, fish, galaxy
something red {flower heart}, tiger, rainforest, blueberries, carousel
“Rainbow” 5″ x 8″ markers, ink on mixed media paper
Don’t be afraid to try something new, it’s lots of fun!
I am currently participating in the Doodlewash February challenge,
“Orchids” 8″ x 10″ watercolor on 140lb cold pressed paper
You can join in any time, and do one drawing or as many as you can
I encourage you to join me!
Be Fearless!!

Jenna, I love your Doodlewash challenges. I have looked forward to your Instagram posts each day. There would be no way I could choose a favorite, they are so different and unique! Thanks for brightening another gloomy weather day.
Aren’t you the sweetest, thank you Pam, your support is much appreciated! I thought it was supposed to be nice today, and I woke up to rain, yuk!
It is snowing at my house
WHAT!!! You are kidding!!! I hope you can stay cozy!
I have a ladies luncheon. We are north of Gadsden and we have a winter weather advisory. It has covered the rooftops here and is sticking on the ground. Probably short lived, but I love it for now!
How sweet these are. I love that you challenged yourself Jenna, with Doodlewash. Of course your talents always shine through. Happy weekend.
thanks Linda!
These are so wonderful! I really love the marbles, and the lemon!

Thank you Emily, I have really enjoyed my artist “playtime” every day!
Beautiful work, Jenna! What a fun challenge! Hope you are doing well Hugs!
Thank you Kim!
What a beautiful gallery of paintings, Jenna. I marvel at your “stick-to-it-tiveness” (sp.?) to complete a sketch each day. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite, but I loved your clever way of interpreting a “rainbow” as a beautiful sunhat! Bravo for sharing your talent and imagination. I love starting my day with your posts in the morning!
Thanks Rosie, your kind words are much appreciated!
They’re all beautiful! I think the bunny and the duck are my favorites. You are so talented!
Thanks Michelle, it’s fun to hear which ones are favorites…
Love your pieces for the challenges. They make me happy. I should do this.
You should!! thanks Jeanie!
Jenna, they are all beautiful! I really like the woman and the peacock. 😊
Thanks Robin, the woman was super fun!
A super fun challenge Jenna! Your tiger really pops! I recognize Shirley’s blooming Citron vase from Floral Friday. ♥

A fabulous collection, Jenna!! So many amazing pieces. Great job! ❤️😍❤️
thanks Patty Anne, I have really enjoyed these challenges 🎨
All of them are really great, but I love the bunny with the carrot, the peacock, the lemons, the orchids and the lady with the hat. Oh, and the flamingo is so unique, love her too! The pink carousel would be so cute in a little girls room. You are so talented!
Thank you Cyndi, it’s been fun experimenting with different styles…those are some of my favorites too…
