Tablescapes, Spring Patio

A day or 2 before our whole world shut down,

a mere 10 days ago,

Things were just being discovered and changes were on the horizon,

I ventured out to Trader Joe’s for some flowers

I seemed to be in a particularly yellow mood

as I placed mini daffodils, a Midas begonia,

and delightful ranunculus stems in my buggy

Spring has sprung in Alabama

It was a perfect warm day to play on the patio

After rinsing a layer of pollen off the table

I set 2 places with a palette of spring green, yellow and deep blue

The pretty Sur La Table dinner plates were bought on sale years ago

I love their bright colors and loose, painterly design

I paired them with small Pflatzzgraf plates from the Villa Della Luna collection

So pretty with the yellow and orange ranunculus blooms!

The dragonfly napkin rings flew in to keep the other bugs away

Everything on the table I have had for a long time,

It’s so much fun to shop your house and find different things to combine!

The small appetizer/dessert plates make great coasters too

And a green moss bunny looks so cute with the blue

Keeping things cheery does wonders for your spirit…

If you listen closely you can almost just hear it…

The flowers are saying “Be hopeful and smile”

This time spent at home can be really worth while!

  1. Good morning Jenna. Doesn’t the sunshine lift our spirits today? Your table is so cheerful with the spring greens, yellows, and deep blues. I love the colorful Sur La Table plates. During this time, it is a fun challenge to shop our house and pull things out and use in a different way. The yellow ranunculus are stunning. Enjoy the upcoming days of sunshine!

Really pretty combinations, Jenna! I love blues yellows and oranges together.

  3. Lovely, those plates are so pretty! They do look like something you would do yourself. It is so important right now to help keep our spirits up, and a lovely outdoor table for two is nice to see.

The colors are lovely Jenna. So, so, refreshing to look at this morning. Wish I was sharing a glass of tea of with you at that lovely table. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. I had to laugh when you said cleaning off the pollen from the table. Having been in the south during your spring…I really know what you mean. Here we would be clearing off snow…LOL. Sweet post, and the colors are great!

What a pretty table! Love all the bright colors, instant sunshine! Yes, it’s time to bring out spring things and that little bunny is just to cute!

  7. Thank you Jenna! I sure needed to see these photographs today, we got 8 more inches of snow yesterday! Most of it is already melted, but really.

Oh Jenna, just such a little while ago all I was thinking was coming up for lunch and shopping with you! I love your patio and fireplace and oven, it’s a perfect set-up. The colors are so pretty in the plates and I think they look like something you would paint. Hope someday I’ll be back there with you enjoying lunch…..

    • I know, me too Emily!!! I do feel guilty being able to enjoy the beach right now, but also incredibly grateful…the next time we get together we must truly have a celebration!!
