Creations, Decoupage “Bottlescape”

Thursday was stormy and rainy,

perfect for an indoor project!

I had a large plastic water bottle and a pretty clear glass wine bottle,

that I’d saved in my craft stash …

I got out the Mod Podge, tissue, patterned paper napkins,

glass beads and paint,

and the fun began!

I soaked the glass bottle to remove the labels

and then painted colorful abstract shapes all over it

I cut the glass beads off an old costume jewelry necklace

for some 3 dimensional bling!

Small stones were glued around the neck

and I had a decorative blue ceramic knob that fit inside perfectly

I forgot to take a before photo of the plastic bottle below

I didn’t remove it’s label, just decoupaged over it

with various pieces of torn patterned tissue paper and napkins

When the Mod Podge was dry,

I added a few accents with paint pens,

and glued paper flowers and a crystal knob on top

Friday dawned bright and sunny

I set the table outside with my new pretties, fishes, and other blue bottles

A perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee

HHjr bought flowers on his last grocery run,

{so sweet, he knows how much I love them}

I told him he was so smart to buy Alstroemeria because they last for weeks

So gorgeous against the blue sky!

What a gift of a beautiful day!

I love decoupage because anything goes and you can get crazy

Happy bright additions to the beach decor 🌞

I hope I’ve inspired you to let loose and do something a little crazy!

  1. Good morning Jenna. It is a beautiful morning with sunshine and temps in the forties. I am loving decoupage, and I need to get busy and try my hand with it once again. Your creations are always fun. How sweet that HHjr bought you flowers, and ones that would last. Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday, Jenna! These bottles are so pretty and cheerful! They look so wonderful on your table with the beautiful blue sky as a backdrop. This would be something my teenage daughter and I could do together, I’m always trying to come up with things we could do to spend time together. This afternoon we have decided to have a little tea party on the deck. She will be starting her last year of high school in the fall. I know I will blink, and she will be off to college. Thanks for sharing this fun idea. Take care, sweet friend, and enjoy your day!

    • Oh thank you Shannon, I do think you and your daughter would have fun doing this type of craft together, great idea! A tea party sounds delightful, that is a really special idea!

You are so creative! I never would have thought to use the beads from old jewerly, that’s pretty smart! And using the blue knob as the stopper is really thinking! Those yellow flowers are stunning against the blue sky, what a lovely day and view, indeed! Happy Sunday! 😉

  4. So cute and happy! And there is something so happy about playing with mod podge or glue or paint that really takes the mind off of everything else! Happy Sunday, Jenna.

That was so sweet of HHjr to bring you flowers. He did a great job picking them out. The colors could not have been more perfect.
    Happy Sunday!💗
