Creations, Seaside Tabletop Glassware

Welcome to the 2nd Creative Craft Blog Hop!

I know you had fun visiting creative Carol at Bluesky At Home

Now, let’s get crafty with some glassware, beads, shells and seaglass

I rounded up a few things to dress up,

a blue bottle with a broken top, a large glass fish,

and a couple of inexpensive stemmed goblets

I got out my “bling box,” it’s full of glass beads,

sea glass and other potential craft items like costume jewelry

I also have a box of sand dollars collected from a nearby beach

Let’s get started!

The bottle got a “skirt” of sand dollars

and a “necklace” of colorful beads

Now the broken edge looks pretty!

Rows of beads and glass were added near the base

A large glass blue bubble is the finishing touch

The glasses have a large sand dollar on the front

with cone shells, small sand dollar, and sea glass on the base

I painted a row of turquoise “swoosh” strokes under the large sand dollar

Ultramarine blue dots were painted around the large sand dollar

and on the edge of the base

I decided to give the glass fish some color and texture with glass and beads

Sea glass was glued to the sides of the fish

flat backed glass beads were glued all over the base,

and I painted a few lines on the bottom fin

A few colored beads on top and blue dots around the eyes

These will be coming to a tablescape soon!

Jenna, So creative and crafty… I love how you salvaged your broken bottle and I especially love your fish makeover! The sea glass and flat marbles are the perfect addition to give the illusion of iridescent scales. What a treasure trove of sand dollars too! Question: What adhesive do you use? E6000 or do you use hot glue for the glass…does it hold on glass? Happy to be hopping with you today! ♥

    • Thanks Mary! I used hot glue so the glued pieces would be secure right away but E6000 is really a better choice, especially if the items will be outside, E6000 has better longevity but the pieces would have to be secured with tape to keep in place while drying. Happy hopping!

  2. Lovin’ your new fish bowl, it turned out great:@)

  3. Jenna, I always love your creativity. The tabletop glassware…bottle, glasses, and fish bowl have a new beach life. I love all of them and I need a bling box! Wishing you a beautiful day, it is pouring rain this morning!

Your glassware looks very summery! I wondered too what glue you used– I see the answer above.

Your blue bottle is so gorgeous. Where did you get it? This is such a great beach decor. Your “bling” box has some really great stuff. The sand dollars are really cool looking too. Can’t wait for the upcoming tablescape. Thanks for sharing.

    • hi Andrea, I’ve had that blue bottle for ages, can’t remember where I got it, but one day I knocked it over and the top broke…I couldn’t bear to throw it away, I’m so glad I finally repurposed it! Thanks!
