Party Panache, Cheese Stars

With the 4th of July just around the corner

You might need a last minute snack or appetizer for your celebration!

If you have  bread,  cheese, mayonnaise and a cookie cutter,

you can make these!

Since we’re celebrating on the coast,

I made some “goldfish” too

This is a quick and popular snack you can make for any occasion

Use any bread you like, I used Pepperidge Farm thin white for the stars

and a thicker sour dough for the fish

Spread cut bread with a thick layer of mayonnaise

pssst…pretend you don’t see that light Hellman’s,

use Duke’s it’s so much better!

Then cover with a generous amount of grated cheese

The better the cheese the better the taste!

You can make these with Pimiento Cheese too

Garnish ideas

Fish: add chives to look like scales, perhaps a piece of olive for an eye…

Stars: place on a blue plate and garnish with red pepper or tomato pieces

  1. Jenna, this is so simple but delicious. The reason I know it is delicious…my Mama made these little cheese bites for my brother and me when we were growing up! Wishing you a wonderful summer day!

    • Definitely not rocket science, but if you cut something in a fancy shape it instantly looks special! Thanks Pam, I hope you have a wonderful 4th with your family 🇺🇸

  2. Oh, I’m doing this! We are having a socially-distant dinner party with three other people in the back yard Saturday (or front porch if it rains), and I’ll make these for an appetizer. I have lots of cookie cutters…
