How is it possible that it’s almost August already?
While perusing recipes for my monthly bucket list
I was having trouble finding recipes that I hadn’t seen a zillion times before…
So few were jumping out and grabbing my attention
Instead of making trendy recipes this month,
let’s revisit some old time favorites,
with maybe a twist or two,
Blasts from the past!
Flavors and recipes that everyone loves, because they’re simply good!
The flavor/theme of the month for August is
Classic
You can find photos, and links for these recipes
in the August section of the Monthly Paint Bucket here

[…] Here’s what I made from the August Paint Bucket […]
Good morning, Jenna. As I was looking over the August paint bucket, I saw the strawberry pretzel salad. This flooded my memory of my beloved Mama who made this quite often for Sunday lunches, it was always a favorite of mine. It is hard to beat the classic food recipes that evoke memories from the past. Have a wonderful Thursday!
I remember the first time I had it was at my Mother-in-laws, and I thought, why is it called salad when it’s more like dessert! 😂 I’m glad it brought back good memories!
I am now quite hungry! Lovely dishes!
Thanks Dorothy!
I too can’t believe that tomorrow is the first of August. At this fast pace, it won’t be long before we will start decorating our homes for fall. Thank you for your links to the classics…would you believe that there are many that I’ve not had and must try.
Thank you Karen, oldies but goodies!
Old time favorites are always a plus! Love your juicy looking painted tomato — good enough to eat!
thanks Jeanie, I love to paint and draw tomatoes!
Green Bean Lasagna sounds really good to me!!! Happy almost August:@)
Yes, Isn’t that a crazy idea, but I can’t wait to make it!
The couscous salad looks very yummy. 😀 You are the most organized person I know. I’ve been one hot mess lately! ;P
Hi RJ! Thanks for stopping by, as for being organized, you should see my garage, now that’s a hot mess!
What a wonderful round up of deliciousness! The strawberry salad has not been made in a long time… may need to make soon.
I’ve been enjoying summertime and have taken a Social Media break. But always love coming back and seeing you here with delightful posts!
Happy day to you!
Thanks Nancy, so nice of you!
Looking forward to these good eats this month! Yes, it’s CRAZY that it is already August! Yikes, I need to get in more beach time, lol! 🌞🌊♥️
Thank you Cyndi, yes Summer is flying by!
