The Organized Life, September Paint Bucket

Where did the summer go??

I’m not quite ready to put away my flip flops yet,
but I am starting to think about heartier foods,
creamy casseroles, apples and cinnamon…

This month’s recipe inspiration list has fall foods,
apples, sweet potatoes and pumpkin seeds,
plus a wide variety of vegetables…
in so many pretty colors

The flavor/theme of the month for September is
Vegetable Rainbow
You can see photos and links to these recipes on
my monthly Pinterest Board here

The flavor/theme of the month was Classic Recipes
I took inspiration from Ramen Noodle Salad from Dinner at the Zoo
and made my own version of Ramen Noodle Salad

Strawberries and Cream Pretzel Salad from the Painted Apron archives

Sloppy Joe Bubble Up from Plain Chicken
became Meaty Marinara Bubble Up

Taco Crunch Wrap Supreme from Damn Delicious was my inspiration for
a lightened up version, Taco Lettuce Crunch Wrap

I was going to make No Bake Oreo Cheesecake from the Recipe Rebel,
but then I saw a recipe for Oreo Peanut Butter Cheesecake
from Marilyn’s Treats
and I was sold!

Instead of making Green Bean Lasagna from Southern Living I combined
ravioli, bacon, vegetables and a creamy Alfredo sauce to make

There are still so many things on the August Paint Bucket that I want to make, but here we are, the end of August!!
I will be revisiting this list soon!

Yumminess all around! A great round up! Thank you!
Happy Sunday my friend… Enjoy your week.
Thanks Nancy!
Jenna, a slice of almond amaretto pound cake is just what I need for breakfast. The slow cooker corn pudding also sounds delicious. I always look forward to your flavors of the month and to see what you will be cooking. Have a lovely Sunday!
I can’t wait to make that cake, I love Amaretto, and anything corn and I’m in! Looks like we’re going to have a sunny week!
Another round up of deliciousness! Happy Sunday Jenna ♥
Thanks Mary!
Wow! Impressive list of wonderful dishes! Thank you for including my recipe. 🙂
Thank you Robin, your salad sounds so good, I am looking forward to making it!
These all sound SO GOOD! Thanks so much for including my Butterscotch Pudding Pie in your menu! <3
Thank you, I love butterscotch and your recipe sounds so good!
So much eye candy in this post. I want/need that Peanut Butter Oreo Cheesecake!
It is decadent for sure, thanks Linda!
There’s lots of yum here and I also love the yummy paintings you did to accompany this! A perfect mix of passions!
ha, yes a mix of passions! Thanks Jeanie
Love them all, especially the tomatoes!
Thanks Dorothy, I am always excited about the approach of a new season and seasonal foods!
Jenna, all of these recipes look delicious! I can’t wait to see what you cook up this fall! Happy Sunday!
Thank you Shannon!
Wow, to have made so many of these recipes means spending a lot of time in the kitchen. For the last week it has felt like fall in Maine but I’m betting we have some more warm days. I do like having a fire as I sip morning coffee.
We won’t feel fall for a while yet, it’s so nice you can be in Maine where fall must be so beautiful!
Gotta’ try the Meaty Marinara Bubble Up!–you had me at 4 ingredients. And thanks for reminding me of Plain Chicken–I followed her blog for the longest time, and somehow she disappeared from my “favorites”–but I’ve saved her site once again. Love those cats of hers, and the name she gave her husband, “Chicken Legs.”
That’s such an easy and satisfying recipe Sheila, I hope you love it! Yes, Plain Chicken always has easy and tasty recipes, she’s an Alabama Gal too!
Oh wow, yummy recipes Jenna. In spite of Covid19 the summer did pass quickly. I am looking forward to cooler temps but not ready to close the door on summer. Look forward to reading your TTT post next week……….
Thanks Emily, I agree, summer really flew by! It looks like we are going to have a sunny week for a change, crazy weather this past weekend!
So many good dishes! I’m not ready to let summer go either. We are at our friends cabin on the lake for a few days and I intend to make your recipe of cut up chicken nuggets dipped in ranch seasonings, crushed potato chips and parmesan cheese and then baked. It is So Good! 😋 looking forward to more of your good eats Miss Jenna! Thank you!
I need to make those again soon, one of my favorites! Enjoy your time at the lake, sounds wonderful Cyndi!
Sounds like you’ll be eating well in September Jenna! I say bring on fall:@)
Thanks Lynn!
You’re making me hungry, Jenna, with all your pictures and inspiration. I’m ready for Fall, but my flip flops will be on my feet for quite awhile!
Thank you Kitty! Yes, it won’t be time to put the flip flops away around here for quite a while either!
