Tablescapes, Harvest Patio

First, a little update from the coast…

Our neighbor found our little boat 3 lots down under trees and bushes

sooo sad…😢

It has been a long and stressful two weeks but we’re making progress,

our big boat has been transported to the dealership for repairs,

I have filed the insurance claims,

gotten approval for building permits for the roof and pier repair,

so now it’s just a matter of waiting…

The pool is no longer green and the interior of the house remains dry,

but HHjr says that all the vegetation is dead and looks awful

We lost our big satsuma orange tree

It was loaded with over 100 oranges

almost ready to be picked…

But we are lucky, so many lost so much,

the hurricane and flooding damage is extensive inland too

So please keep saying prayers

for everyone dealing with hardship, covid and 2020

On a much happier note, look at this rainbow mum I found the other day!

Come on out, I want to show you our Harvest Patio!

The weather is delightful this weekend,

highs around 70 lows in the 50s

Perfect temps for tablescaping and patio dining

I set the table with pumpkin plates and my MKC Pumpkin Truck

There’s also a pitcher of faux black eyed Susans

helping to distract from the umbrella pole

One of my BFFs came over and brought lunch

We sat out here and enjoyed being together on a beautiful day

I hadn’t seen her since February!

I don’t leave the tray outside overnight,

and it’s easily transported to a shelf in the kitchen

where it can be enjoyed inside too

Guess what, the Autumn “There’s No Place like Home” Blog Hop

continues this week with more Fall crafts and creations!

Thanks for your visit, and we will keep calm and repair on!

Yesterday HHjr, with the help of friends,

got the little boat back in the water and towed to the boat ramp

and put on a trailer for transport to dealership for repair

{Yikes, it looks rough but it’s floating!}

I hope you are enjoying a beautiful October!

Your patio looks so festive and inviting. This autumn weather is perfect for outdoor dining. Step by step for your beach home. Blessings to you and all who were affected by the storm.

Jenna, it sounds like you have really made progress taking care of details at the beach house. It’s always tedious and very stressful getting those permits! I think your Harvest patio looks lovely. I love the fireplace HHjr built, it adds so much to the patio and is a fabulous way to add your fall touches. Love the tray, it looks great everywhere and the table with it’s pretty setting. I’ve been adding fall touches to our veranda since we are spending a lot to time out there. Happy Sunday……

    • I’m so glad you are enjoying your beautiful veranda too Emily, the weather has been so lovely these past few days, and it looks like there is more to come!! Thank you for the encouraging words, I am finally not feeling quite as stressed…

  3. Jenna, I am so glad the little boat was found and that progress is being made, even if slowly. The Harvest Patio is so festive and Autumn perfect. The tray really makes the fireplace sing. I just love decorating with mums and pumpkins. Happy Sunday and a Roll Tide!

Jenna, I continue to pray for you and all those affected by the hurricane. I am glad your boat was found and can be repaired. Glad your insurance is filed and building permits acquired. You have gotten a lot done. I know it was stressful though.
One of my childhood friends daughter’s house was flooded. They lost all their furniture. Sheetrock is ripped out and a huge pile of everything they had is in their front yard.
Your patio is very inviting. How nice to have a friend bring lunch and you enjoy a beautiful day together on your pretty decorated patio. Feel good! I have no pumpkins yet.

    • Thanks so much Bonnie, it has really been heart lifting to see so many people come together to help on the Gulf Coast, and I’m so proud of my son for being one of them, they did more work this weekend. I am so grateful I can be in the city and enjoy my patio and these glorious fall days…and a bonus leisurely lunch with a special friend. You need some pumpkins!!

Beautiful outdoor patio area in the city, and I’m happy you’re able to be distracted from the stress at the shore. Having a friend over to share a meal at a pretty table is definitely food for the soul, too. The rainbow mums are gorgeous, the bigger the better! Sounds like you’ve done the nasty work of dealing with the initial submittals, so you can relax a bit until the next wave of action needed. I hope your insurance will consider the maturity of the vegetation, even though it won’t bring back what was lost.

    • Thanks so much Rita, and I will mention the vegetation loss to them, thank you. The adjuster that surveyed the damage was super nice and very thorough and I know that we will be treated more than fairly.

  6. I’m sorry to hear of the damage Jenna, I wish you a speedy clean-up and return to normal! Your fall outdoor setting is very pretty, love that mum-enjoy:@)

Jenna, I must first say that your outdoor fireplace looks so beautiful adorned for autumn! I have always admired your outdoor space. It looks like it is out of a magazine. The rainbow mum is so pretty, and your tablescape is so lovely with those adorable pumpkin plates. I’m happy to hear that you are making progress on getting things repaired at the beach house. My heart goes out to all of you. Take care, and have a most blessed Sunday!

    • Thank you so much Shannon, we love love our outdoor space and look forward to having our first football gathering {safely} next weekend! Progress is slow going on the coast, but we are feeling good about what we’ve accomplished so far, thank you!

  8. Gorgeous photos, we had much colder temps then you have, so I haven’t even been outside. Cold and damp, but today the sun shines, Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Glad to hear of repairs, even though they are long and tedious.
Enjoy your week my friend, Jenna!

  11. So sorry to hear about the hurricane damage! 😞 Love your patio and tablescape. ❤❤❤

    • hi Cindy, we love love our outdoor space too and it’s finally cool enough to really enjoy it! I love the truck too, looking forward to decorating it for Christmas and other holidays 🙂

Jenna, so glad your work is coming along so well, have kept you and yours in my prayers. Your mention of your little boat reminded me of a quote :’O, God, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small’–a Breton Fisherman’s prayer. I remembered that JFK had a plaque given to him bearing that quote, so I looked it up. Below is a site with a picture of the plaque and a tad of history:
    https://www.jfklibrary.org/asset-viewer/breton-fishermans-prayer-plaque
Keep sitting on your patio–what a lovely, restful place. Wish I could click my heels together 3 times and join you there. But I look forward to your photos and glean what zen-like feelings I can through the magic of the internet. As always, thanks for sharing and inspiring us all! Georgia Gal

    • Thank you for sending me that inspiring JFK link Sheila! So nice of you. I am trying not to freak out as news of hurricane Delta is not good for us, I can’t believe it could happen again, I am praying for a miracle, and yes I will keep enjoying the patio, I am having another friend over for lunch on Wed and that will give me a boost. Thank you for your friendship and kindness Georgia Gal!

  15. I was just thinking about you yesterday and how lucky you are that you still have a beautiful home where your family can still come. Even though the beach house needs so much repair, the one thing that will never be lost from there are memories of all your family times. It will take time before you can return to those days but in the meantime you make the most beautiful settings to enjoy with your family and friends. I’m glad that the little boat was found and will be able to be repaired. I pinned your lovely outdoor setting to share on one of my Pinterest boards.

    • Thank you Karen, I really appreciate your kind words and advice…unfortunately it looks like Delta is headed our way in a few days, I am praying for a last minute miracle because the streets are lined with piles of debris that could become dangerous projectiles in high wind and do serious damage to houses and everything else. I am thankful I have a beautiful safe place to be in the meantime 🤞🙏

It’s so nice that you were able to spend some time with your friend outside. The table looks so pretty and I love the fireplace decorated for fall. I’m sorry to hear about the damage you had from the hurricane. Hope you have a nice week Jenna.

  18. Kitty says:

Yes Jenna, prayers for you and all that need them. I’m happy that the little boat was found and it will be repaired along with your big boat. That’s so sad about your orange tree, but you’re so right, things could be much worse. Your patio looks wonderful!!! The rainbow mum is spectacular and I’m glad that you saw your friend that you hadn’t seen since February. I hope you have a great week.

  19. Mary says:

Love your harvest patio and table Jenna! We’ve enjoyed the same wonderful weather so it’s been a wonderful week to dine alfresco. I know you must be enjoying your awesome grill area and fireplace and your harvest tray looks so festive in place. I’m glad your boats could be rescued and arrangements made for repairs. I was wondering if you would have to bring a crane in to lift your boat and place it on a trailer. Hope your repairs are speedy.♥

    • I am really enjoying the patio and the rainbow mums, I hope they last for a while! I don’t know how they got the big boat back in the water, I certainly wish I could have seen that!

  20. This is just fabulous, Jenna, and so happy. I’m glad you can find happy and grateful. (But oh, an orange tree…. sigh.) And very glad no more damage. I’m hoping the next one misses you — I hear there is one in the gulf but it looks a bit more toward LA, not AL. Fingers crossed; you’ve had enough. Hope the queue for repairs moves quickly.

Meanwhile, what a glorious spot for you to be and to take a deep dive into fall. I love your outdoor hearth – it’s fabulous!

    • Thank you Jeanie, especially for the prayers and sweet thoughts…I just had a long leisurely lunch on the patio with a friend, and she said she couldn’t wait to come back and do it again 🙂

  21. Joy says:

From another Georgia gal (with relatives on the Gulf Coast) please know that we are praying for you all as the next storm builds. Your patio is lovely and your table is, as well. I love the black and white check theme with sunflowers! Stay safe and well…

    • Thanks so much Joy! I think we’re going to be spared this time, but poor LA, I pray that this is the last one of the season. The patio is a lovely place to escape too 🙂

  22. Kim says:

Jenna, your harvest patio is lovely and how great to have lunch with a friend that you haven’t seen since February! The table is so sweet! Glad to hear that things are (slowly) returning to normal, albeit with a lot of work. And now I hear there is hurricane Delta headed for Louisiana. Yikes. Sounds like a crazy weather year. Take care.

    • hi Kim, thank you, I am enjoying the patio so much, it is really cheery even on this rainy morning. We are feeling very relieved that Delta is not going to hit near us on the coast but I feel so sorry for my LA neighbors who are in the path yet again. We are hoping our tarps will hold and keep the house dry, it will probably be a long time before we can get the roof redone. Have a lovely weekend!

  23. Your patio is gorgeous! Praying you stay safe!

  24. Sane says:

Glad to hear the damage wasn’t too extensive. Hope you’re able to find honest, reliable contractors. Loved seeing your patio table. Isn’t it wonderful to be able to dine alfresco in October? I always have trouble coming up with centerpiece ideas for umbrella tables ~ thanks for the ideas!

    • Sandra@Dinner at Eight says:

Computer gremlins, wouldn’t let me type my name🤨

    • Thank you Sandra, yes the pesky umbrellas make centerpieces a challenge! We do have some reputable contractors lined up but as you can imagine, the waiting lists are long. I am so grateful that we have another home to live in and we are enjoying our patio, keeping our minds off worry…

  25. Jenna, your decorated patio is so inviting! I will feature your post in this week’s Creative Compulsions.
