Tablescapes, Fall Dinner Party

Last weekend DD & NG had friends over for a dinner party

The first in their new house!

I was delighted when she asked me to help her with the table

and immediately started collecting ideas

DD is all about gray and white,

so I knew she’d like white pumpkins

The chandy above their dining table is gold…

did you know gold fixtures were back in style?

Yay! My house {1989} is right on trend 😂

I played around with pumpkins on my island, and wondered,

dare I add a touch of orange?

Perhaps flowers in small vases?

I ultimately decided that as pretty as the flowers were,

they were too fussy for this dinner party and

I wanted to create a table in her style, not mine

We decided on 3 white cinderella pumpkins

topped with a golden stemmed baby boo on top

On each side of the Cinderella pumpkins,

the table was lined with branches of gold magnolia leaves

topped with more baby boos painted with gold accents

and a gold leaf length of ribbon and twinkling lights

wove around and through all

She set the table with round gray metallic woven mats and

a simple napkin fold pouch for the flatware

Right across from the table is the kitchen island

where she had the party menu displayed

and where set would set out the courses

On a kitchen counter nearby was the beverage station,

cleverly decorated with a Boo sign painted by Charlie Brown

A small dessert station was tucked in the corner

featuring DD’s favorite cake bites and gift for the birthday girl…

Yes, DD was throwing her own birthday party this year,

celebrating with her best friends

in their beautifully renovated new house

Here’s a close up of the menu

It was a joy as a mother, watching the fun she had, planning this party

She chose to serve Teriyaki Tenderloin

which is one of our family traditions for special occasions

You can find the recipe here

I offered to make the Butternut Squash Pasta Alfredo for her

You can find that recently posted recipe here

How wonderful to help your daughter in planning her birthday party! The table looked fabulous and the menu, too. Your daughter and my youngest DIL have similar tastes with the gray, white and brass.
