Take-out Tuesday, Rock Star Short Ribs

“Hey, can you grab something for dinner? I am slammed today at work…”

“Sure” I replied, and turned to my bucket list to choose something to make

When I saw Slow Cooker Mongolian Chicken from Slow Cooking Perfected

on the list, I remembered a long time favorite of my son’s,

Asian Short Ribs

When you don’t have the time or the energy

[or when you’re craving something really amazing}

these short ribs will turn you into a rock star!

All you need are 3 ingredients,

a slow cooker,

and you are on your way to stardom

Asian sweet chili sauce and Hoisin sauce combine for irresistible flavor

Place bone in short ribs in your sprayed or lined slow cooker

and season with salt and pepper

Pour sauces over all,

you don’t even have to mix the sauces first,

they will mix as the ribs cook

Cook low and slow for 7-8 hours

and the meat will be so tender you can cut it with a fork

If you want to amp up the presentation,

garnish ribs with sliced green onions and sesame seeds

Serve short ribs with rice, mashed potatoes or noodles

so you will have something to soak up the yummy sauce

These short ribs couldn’t be easier

and are a hit with kids and adults alike…

I think the best part of cooking with a slow cooker

is when your family walks in and says,

“What’s for dinner, it smells amazing!”

  1. Oh, my! Going to the store today, and putting short ribs on the grocery list. I have the Asian sauces already, as I often cook with those flavors. I’ll bet these would be great with the Garlic and Black Bean sauce too.
