Part of my extended family is coming over today for a safe visit,
we will be outside for just an hour or so
A short visit,
we can’t break our tradition of celebrating Christmas Eve day together!
Santa’s not joining us this year,
he wants to stay safe so he can deliver the toys …
The kids will be getting bags of Reindeer food to take home
and set out with cookies for Santa
Big E helped make the reindeer food
It’s made with Kix cereal, peanut butter, white chocolate,
powdered sugar, cinnamon and M & Ms
Variations:
substitute another cereal for the Kix, like Chex, or Cheerios
Use white, milk or semi sweet chocolate chips instead of almond bark,
Substitute almond butter for peanut butter {peanut allergies}
Melt peanut butter and almond bark along with cinnamon
in a large bowl in the microwave
Cook for 1 minute on high,
then stir and continue cooking in 30 second intervals and stirring,
until mixture was thoroughly melted and combined
Put the cereal into a extra large mixing bowl
and pour melted mixture into the bowl
and stir, stir, stir, to coat
Divide the powdered sugar into into 2 large ziplock bags
Put 1/2 of coated cereal into each bag and seal
Shake, shake, shake to cover cereal
Empty the bags back into the extra large mixing bowl
and using a large spoon or a scoop, divide mixture into quart size ziplock bags
Divide M & Ms among bags,
adding some to each bag,
then seal bags and shake to mix
Put filled bags into small gift bags,
add Reindeer food label and secure with tape
Here is a printable sheet of labels, click here to print
