Tablescapes, Fat Tuesday

Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕
And Mardi Gras is only two days away! 🎭
We are celebrating a Valentine birthday on the Gulf coast today
but we’ll be back in the city to celebrate Fat Tuesday!

The table is set for a special dinner

I think we’ll have Easy Slow Cooker Jambalaya
it’s always a winner!
A Mardi Gras jester and beads of gold, purple, and green

spill over onto the table set for dining and fine cuisine

Fat Tuesday tradition means rich foods, festive drinks,
and dressing in masks
What does it all mean, you might be tempted to ask?
Decorated floats parade down the streets
revelers throw beads, Moon Pies and other Mardi Gras treats

But this year the parades have been cancelled
and we’ll celebrate at home …
where we’ll be safe from the dangers of crowds and unknowns

A wreath of colorful ribbons nestles a bowl of sparkling decor

There are masks and crowns, and decorations galore!

So this year there won’t be crowds on Bourbon Street

But you can still have fun at home I think!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!!
Here’s a couple more easy dishes to make your day festive:
Drizzle plain or Almond Crescent Rolls with colored icing and green, gold, and purple sprinkles

Make a festive Mardi Gras Gratin full of sausage, ham, asparagus and pasta, it’s full of the colors of Mardi Gras

Holiday Cookie Bars are made with a cake mix and the golden bars are covered with purple and green sprinkles

Enjoy!

This is a great way to celebrate the birthday and have fun with Mardi Gras too. I love your table details. Enjoy!
Thank you Rita, looks like a rough weather week for you…
Fun table as usual, very festive!
Thank you Carole!
Enjoy the festivities Jenna! Have fun with the kids:@)
I hope you’re not buried in snow!
Celebrating at home is the only way to go! Hugs, and great table…looks like Fun!
thanks Sandi 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day, Jenna! Your Mardi Gras table looks both beautiful and festive! The perfect thing to cheer up a winter’s day. Those crescent rolls look delicious! Take care and have a most blessed week ahead!
Thank you Shannon, stay warm!
You are ready to go! And you’ll have a ball. Love all the bright and happy colors! Celebrate!
thanks Jeanie!
I can’t remember whose birthday it is, but enjoy the birthday celebration on the Gulf. Your Mardi Gras table is beautiful and it is ready for Fat Tuesday when you arrive back in the city! Have a safe and lovely week!
Thanks Pam, it was my sons birthday on Valentine’s Day…dicey weather this week, ugh!
Yes, it is…pouring rain here!
You set the best tables! Have fun 🙂
Thanks Martha!
Love the table, and all the cheerful colors of Mardi Gras!
Thanks Dorothy, it’s a big deal in the coastal South, and it’s so sad this year that there aren’t any balls or parades
We’ll just have to look forward to an even better one next year!
This is a fun post! I love to decorate for Mardi Gras, but not this year. It’s too depressing with everything canceled. I’m so happy our niece was able to make her debut in New Orleans before all the pandemic madness. Stay warm this week. BRRRRRR!!!!
It’s too cold for Mardi Gras anyway!! It’s 24 on the coast this morning, Southern homes aren’t built for this weather!!
Decadent food and outlandish, colorful decorations–Mardi Gras! I love your tablescape!
Thanks Linda!
So festive Jenna! I hope the weather didn’t put a damper on your celebration! ♥
Well, it did a little, but luckily we had the birthday party Sat nite so at least that got celebrated!
I hope your son had a wonderful birthday, Jenna! I loved your poetry along with your pretty decor. I want to look up your slow cooker jambalaya.
Thanks Kitty!
