Throwback Thursday, Wreath Re-do

I made a Crazy Daisy Wreath for May many moons ago,

inspired by the creations of Patience Brewster

It was full of daisies with faces

a colorful owl, a bicycle,

and an outdoor swing

After a few Mays outside,

the daisy ladies began to look a little tired and dirty

and the owl migrated to the beach house…

I took everything off to have a fresh start,

keeping a few of the elements that could be reused

I gathered some blooms and stems leftover from another project

Grapevine wreaths are great because it’s so easy to stick things in

and secure them in the vines

I tucked the stems around the wreath in an asymmetrical fashion

and added a length of burlap ribbon tied in a simple knot

I topped the burlap ribbon with a length of ruffled pink ribbon

and added the swing with floral wire

I also used floral wire to tie on a mini white watering can

that I usually use for a napkin ring

I repainted the bicycle seat from red to pink

and wired it on next to some flowers

That’s it!

Old > Redo = New!

Cost $0

I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful May!

I love to renew and freshen up my old wreaths too. Most of mine are grapevine and you are so right, so easy to secure the decorations. Love what you did with this, the little bicycle is adorable and just perfect for spring. Best of all, no $$$.
