The Organized Life, June Paint Bucket

Happy June, and Happy Summer!

When I see recipes that I would like to try,

I pin them to organized Pinterest boards

according to type, occasion or time of year

Then I choose from those recipes

and make a list for quick reference throughout the month

Since June is traditionally the month of weddings,

and there are so many light color foods on this list

I am choosing a color for this month’s theme/flavor of the month,

Wedding White-Light Colored Foods

You can see photos and links to these recipes in the June section

of the Monthly Pinterest board here

Appetizers

Bacon Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls from Garlic and Zest

Homemade Sour Cream & Onion Crackers from Premeditated Leftovers

Jarcuterie {individual charcuterie elements in a jar}

Here’s what I made from the May Paint Bucket

The flavor/theme of the month was Miscellaneous May

and I really deviated from the list

and made a lot of miscellaneous changes!

If you need an easy snack or party bite for a picnic or BBQ,

you can’t beat these Parmesan Bacon Bites

popular with all ages!

Even easier are these BLT Skewers

Glazed Mimosa Bread from Lemon Tree Dwelling

inspired delicious Mini Mimosa Muffins

Instead of making Mini Quiche 4 ways from Culinary Hill,

I made Loaded Ham & Asparagus Alfredo Pie

This recipe was featured on Favorite Things Thursday

Grilled Chicken with Orange BBQ Sauce

from Happier Than a Pig in Mud

was the inspiration for Sweet Orange BBQ Chicken Thighs

I also made another version of orange chicken

Cornish Hens with Oranges & Rosemary Salt

I made a special birthday treat for my donut loving grandson

Donut Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie

Do you make a weekly menu plan and stick to it?

I really enjoy making this monthly recipe bucket list,

it really saves time each week when we’re planning the meals,

but the secret is to stay flexible~

life happens, things get busy, or maybe you’re just tired…

It’s okay to take a short cut or two!

  1. I love to use Pinterest to organize the recipes too! That’s probably the only social media that I use frequently. I still remember those bacon bites from a couple of posts before…so yummy!

Jenna, there are so many yummy looking recipes on your June list. I can’t wait to see what all you will make. I’m still wanting to make your grilled orange chicken thighs from May’s recipes. We have had so much rain that we haven’t been able to grill outdoors. As soon as we have a pretty day, that chicken recipe is definitely on my list of things to make! Happy June!

    • Thanks so much Shannon, I wish I had the time and energy to make everything on the monthly lists! I hope you do try the orange chicken thighs, they are really good!

  3. Jenna, the June list looks great! We love grits so I will be looking for the hissy fit grits casserole. We also are big fans of coconut, I make a coconut sheet cake but I will look forward to yours. We are getting a sprinkle of rain this morning, hopefully it will pick up. My garden is thirsty! Happy Wednesday!

  4. A good way to organize those bookmarks!

  5. I think I’ll be making some of these for our Corkies. Everything looks terrific and like Pam, grits are a fave and hissy fit grits has me with its name! Love the paintings with this one, too!

  6. Martha says:
