Tomorrow, June 14th, is Flag Day in the USA,
a holiday commemorating the adoption of the stars and stripes flag
representing our country on June 14, 1777
I decided to create a tiered tray for Flag Day
This is a small, 2 tier tray and it’s a great size for a centerpiece
As I shopped my house for red, white & blue,
I discovered quickly that the things I had were very few!
We are always on the coast for the summer holidays,
but I did have a flag banner, a red and white towel,
and a flag bandana
A trip to Hobby Lobby was a red white and blue bonanza!
They had a large selection of tray sized decor
and I also picked up star chargers and flag paper plates
The one thing that I really wanted, small flags, I forgot to get…
but I solved that quickly by finding free flag images,
and putting them on a printable page with PicMonkey
Then I printed them on card stock and cut them out
I made a printable so you could have some too!
Click here for the free printable
The star place card holders are usually used at Christmas time,
but they are perfect for holding the paper flags at each place
I put paper flags on the tiered tray too
I brought out Bloody Mary glasses for the table
because they are painted with big red tomatoes,
perfect for summer!
You can see a tutorial for painting tomatoes here
I also added a couple of containers to the centerpiece
for faux red & white flowers and stems I had
The swirly white stems look festive
and remind me of a firecracker shooting up in the air 🧨
Hooray for the USA!
Are you going to celebrate Flag Day?
