Fearless Friday, Brunhilda

More witchy fun today,

we’re going to paint Brunhilda

and watch her fly away!

I am using acrylic glossy craft paint and

painting Brunhilda on a piece of palette paper

Palette paper is slick like glass

I highly recommend practicing your strokes

and painting on a scrap piece of paper

before you apply paint to an object

If you are going to paint on glassware

it is good to practice on a slick piece of paper or tin foil,

because the slick surface will be similar to glass

Glass is very forgiving,

if you make a mistake you can wash or wipe it off!

Let’s start with her nose!

A curvy shape painted with peach

{mix yellow, white and pink or orange to get peach}

Now a larger curvy shape for the side of her face and chin

And she must have a wart on the tip of her chin!

Next up is her dress

Start with one broad stroke

which will be her arm and over her back

Next fill in her dress with more broad strokes

Let the paint dry between colors, it dries quickly

Next paint her leg {it’s white so very hard to see right now}

Then her boot

You can see where I was impatient

and painted the boot before the white was dry

Next, the hat brim

Then her eye and the rest of her hat

Now paint the broom in between the folds of her dress

and under her leg

Give her some flying orange hair and stripes on her legs

A few fat purple polka dots

and a stripe on her hat and she’s done!

You can add a yellow buckle and accents to her boot if you like

Remember to use a curable paint made for glass

if you are painting glassware

I use FolkArt Gloss Finish Acrylic Paint for Glass here

I use a foil lined shallow well palate

You can see where I mixed the peach for the face,

the brown and yellow for the broom,

and green and yellow for a lime green

I hope you’ll have some witchy fun!
