Holidays, Getting Ready for Halloween

I’m all about Halloween this week,

transitioning my house from early Fall to late October

with a little Halloween decor…

Last year Skellie decided he wanted a Bubble Bath

Skellie is known to be mischievous…

One year he crashed the Ghosts on the Coast party

and waved to the neighbors from the bench on the front porch

He’s awfully skinny,

I think I’ll bake him some Candy Corn Lemon Danish

Or a Yummy Mummy,

a pastry braid full of asparagus and bacon

And some Raid the Pantry Cracker Toffee

I need to go to Trader Joe’s to get these mini pumpkin stems

that they carry every year,

they are so cute and look great in my Candy Corn Bucket

I’ve been playing with pumpkins in the dining room

And put a witch atop a Pumpkin Pillow

The bar area is decked out for Halloween

In the kitchen there’s a ghost trying to scare you away

from the oranges and candy filled pumpkin

Lots of Spooky stuff to be seen!

It’s almost time for Halloween!

  1. You have me want to celebrate Halloween too 🙂 Those decorations are out of the world, Jenna.

Your grandchildren must think you are the most fun grandmother in the world. The miniature pumpkins are actually Chinese eggplant. Go figure? I had Dom grow them for me one year. They are so decorative.

  3. I got out a few Halloween things this morning too. It is only two weeks away!

  4. Jenna, you do Halloween so well! I know the grands love everything you do. Happy Sunday!

  5. You can tell this is one of your favorite times of year!

Great post! You have such fun Halloween displays. I stopped doing much as the kids got older but I’m sure I’ll be more inspired once the grandbabies start coming. I bet yours can’t wait to come visit Grandma every year! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely week ahead.

  7. I love your whimsical take on Halloween! Such wonderful things to celebrate with. I imagine all the trick-or-treaters will flock to your house. I know I would!

My new subdivision goes all out for Halloween, so we will join in giving candy to the kiddos this year. We spent 7 years in Mexico where Halloween is not really celebrated. In the culture there, three days of focus around Day of the Dead involve lots of family customs, but no trick-or-treating. Lots of marigolds and celebrating the life of the departed at their graves.

  9. Love the stacked Jacks on the bar Jenna! Looks like you’re all set for the little goblins:@)

Love it all and what fun Jenna. My daughter Melissa bought a Skelton this year and she has had the most fun with him at her dentist office. We used him for our family party and old Jack was a hit. Happy week to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  11. If I show up to trick or treat at your house, can I take home a “pretty-something” from your house?

I love all of your fun Halloween decorations. What a hoot with Skellie taking a soak in the tub! I am happy to see him again this year. It’s hard to choose a favorite but I’m really admiring how you spooked up the bar and the setting for ghosts on the coast. I know it will be a fun Halloween at your house Jenna……..

  13. Four star adorable. I’m wondering if I’ll even get up a fall mantel, much less anything Halloween. It looks great!

On another note, I’m so behind on comment replies and visiting so please know how much I value your visits and recent comments. I’ll be back on track soon!

  14. What a fun and inspiring post, Jenna!! I love it. The bathtub….LOVE that one! Skelly is a character. Thanks so much, xo Lidy
