Fearless Friday, Holiday Ornaments

I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas this year!

I recently heard that people who decorate early

are significantly happier,

so let’s bring on the decorations!

Today we’re going to draw and color holiday ornaments

and there is a free printable

if you want to follow along and color with me

First I did a pencil sketch

Then I outlined it in ink and erased the pencil

You can download the free printable here

I used yellow and brownish yellow

for the gold ornament cap and ball

and colored in black checks

I used colored pencil in the highlight area of the ornament

and colored the rest of the ornament with marker

I added 2 shades of green to the base for contrast

I colored the tree with the same 2 greens

and added a similar highlight with colored pencil

Then I filled in with red marker

and colored in the center ornament

with shades of blues and greens

I used gray to indicate silver ribbons and bows

I thought they looked a little lost

so for a final touch I added some Christmas tree branches

If you want a free printable of the finished drawing

you can download it here

Happy drawing, painting, and decorating!

Have a wonderful Holiday season, Jenna. I had a stack of your Thanksgiving print outs at my Thanksgiving and my grandchildren loved them ( and their leaves were beautiful!). I’ll make prints of your ornaments and I’m sure they will be a hit, too!

  4. This is a fun one! thanks and happy decorating!

If what you heard is true, my subdivision has some really happy people! Each night when I take a final walk around the block, I see some more decorations that have gone up. I have to chuckle because many of the houses still have a fall decorations up so they have a dual theme going. Just can’t quite get rid of those pumpkins. In my former town, I noticed Christmas decorations going up earlier than usual last year and I attributed it to the lockdowns there. People were so oppressed and that was one way to turn up the happiness factor.
