Throwback Thursday, Fall Favorite Side Dishes

September 22, it is officially Fall!

To celebrate I have rounded up 10 very delicious,

must try

Fall side dishes!

Here is a must try salad~

Fall Harvest Salad with Cinnamon Shallot Vinaigrette

2 kinds of apples, lettuce, kale, grapes, sunflower seeds,

cranberries, pecans, bacon and cheese~

Serve it with the individual ingredients

placed on top of the greens

for a wow presentation

French Onion Stuffed Mushrooms

are like little bowls of onion soup!

Serve them as a side with any meat or chicken

or as a special appetizer bite

This is a magical combination of sweet and savory,

easy enough for weeknights

and special enough for the holidays

Rainbow Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Brussels Sprouts

with Bacon and Pecans

This can actually be a side dish or a main dish

Large cauliflower slices {steaks} are roasted in the oven until golden

Then served with a sauce of sauteed mushrooms,

cheese and cream and topped with bacon

Swoonworthy!

Roasted Cauliflower Steaks with Killer Mushroom Cream

Acorn Squash with Cornbread & Sausage Stuffing

can also be a side or main dish

Cornbread stuffing mix makes quick work

for this delicious Autumn treat,

roasted acorn squash filled with a savory mound

of sausage and cornbread stuffing,

then drizzled with butter and maple syrup!

Autumn Risotto with Pumpkin and Walnuts

This is a lovely side dish for the Fall season,

risotto flavored with sweet pumpkin, walnuts and tangy blue cheese

You can substitute Parmesan for the bleu if you prefer

Instead of a bread bowl, serve your soup in a potato!

French Onion Soup Potato Boats

Butternut Squash Noodles with Mushrooms & Prosciutto

are finished with a little Alfredo sauce and a rosemary garnish

This dish can be prepared early in the day and baked later

and is dinner party worthy!

Bleu Cheesy Mac with Pear and Walnut Croutons

is an amped up version of macaroni and cheese

If you’re not a fan of bleu cheese substitute

any flavorful white cheese you prefer

The pear walnut crouton topping adds such a wonderful contrast

of textures and flavor to this creamy pasta bake

Instead of garlic bread or potatoes, change things up with

French Onion Soup Bread Casserole

I am writing this on Saturday in OK where we had a pleasant weather surprise. The predictions were for sunny and in the 90’s. All day we have had clouds, a few sprinkles and temps in the low 80’s. Fall is on the way and your side dishes are right on time.

  17. Pam says:
