Santa’s Christmas Tree

Welcome to the October monthly Creative Craft Hop!

Thank you so much Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting

Are you coming from Blue Sky at Home ?

Weren’t Carol’s pumpkins adorable!

If you’ve been to the craft stores and stores like HomeGoods lately,

you know they are loaded with Christmas!

With Halloween on the horizon, Christmas isn’t far behind

so today I’m going to share a fun holiday decoration

that you can use to decorate your home or crafty space

We all know that Santa has magical powers,

but did you know he could paint?

Yep, the other day he painted a Christmas tree in my art studio!

I showed him some things he could use from my craft stash

He asked me to prep the canvas

while he changed into his painting outfit…

I used my artist acrylic, but craft acrylic will work just fine

I dabbed my brush into a mix of ultramarine blue,

cerulean blue and white

I wanted the background to be a snowy blue

like on a winter day

Santa put on his red Santa hat

Then he dipped his beard into some green acrylic paint

and practiced his strokes

Then he painted the tree using quick strokes

curving slightly outward from the center

Next he flocked his tree with a little snow,

loading his beard brush with white this time

and dabbing it on the branches

Next he delivered some packages,

securing them with a glue gun

Then he decorated the tree with clear glass beads and red berries

He hung a garland of gold stars and declared it done!

He put on his white felt mustache and added cotton balls to his hat

He put on a little make up with a paint pen

and added a wreath to look extra festive

And took his place at the top of the tree!

When December rolls around I’ll put my pumpkins away

and add more decorations to the kitchen

and this tree to my easel in the corner of my studio space

Thanks so much for your visit!
