Fearless Friday, Halloween Fun with Paint

Now that pumpkins are starting to appear,

I’ve started thinking about Halloween

I rounded up some favorite art craft ideas to get you in the mood

and you don’t have to be an artist to make them!

This Haunted Mansion is painted to look spooky

I painted it with the dry brush technique~

using a brush that is only partially dipped in paint,

so that as you stroke with it,

it leaves a minimum amount of paint

on the cardboard house from Hobby Lobby,

to make it look old and weathered

You can paint a plate with candy corn and ghosts,

but you can also make one with paper ghosts and candy corn,

no paint or painting skills required!

Spooky Fun Halloween Decoration

Make a mummy spoon by painting a wooden spoon black

and then with only a few simple strokes, you’ve got a mummy!

It’s a great addition to a Halloween themed tiered tray

The spider sign is also only a few strokes of simple shapes~

you can buy unfinished wood plaques on Amazon here

These little plaques can add a festive touch to vignettes too

Paint Brunhilda the witch on a wine glass

She’s a little more complicated,

but again she comes to life with simple strokes

You can see the tutorial here

Make a ghost out of a wine bottle

All you need is black and white paint

I’m just here for the BOOS!

Paint a candy corn plate!

Just a few simple strokes with yellow, orange, black and white

Paint candlesticks to look like kids dressed up for Halloween

like these Trick or Treaters

Again, just simple shapes and faces

You can get the plain wood candlesticks I used here

Create a spooky pumpkin with black and white paint

Pair it with ghosts for some spooky fun 👻

You’ve Been Booed

Paint up some Halloween fun!

Be Fearless!

  4. This is so festive and fun. I’m still getting out fall but wil start Halloween proper in mid-October. These are all such fun ideas!

I like fall decorations better than Halloween, but I must say that your Halloween decorations are very clever and are of the FUN variety rather than the gory items available commercially.

  6. I love your creativeness on all, but the wine glasses are extra creative!

Wonderfully spooky and fun ideas for Halloween Jenna! I love the tiered tray and that painted mummy spoon. The haunted house is adorable as are the witchy wine glasses. Your Halloween table looks so fun – who wouldn’t want to dine there? Thanks for all your creative ideas and I’m so glad to hear the weather is cooling a bit. Take care!
