Fearless Friday, Moonlit Castle

Castle was one of the prompts for the Inktober art challenge this month
I looked at photos of castles on Pixabay for inspiration
and chose these two photos to work from

I used a ruler to get the lines straight
A 6″ ruler is a handy size to keep with your pens and pencils
When I was inking over the pencil sketch,
I made a mistake on one of the vertical lines
so I covered it up with a white paint pen
After the paint dried,
I went back and added the correct placement of the line
You can get white paint pens on Amazon here

Not very exciting is it…
Let’s liven it up with a little watercolor
Much better!
I painted the castle in shades of yellow ochre and gray
I added tree tops with shades of Sap Green

Moonlit Castle, 5″ x 7″ watercolor and ink on mixed media paper
When you’re short on time, work small
Smaller pieces come together quickly
and you can do more than one one a page,
saving space in your sketchbook

I agree with Jeanie, it is magical! I love seeing your artistic talent displayed on Fearless Friday! Wishing you a beautiful weekend, Jenna 🧡🍂
You are too sweet Pam, thank you!
Love this one Jenna, a little different!
Thanks Dorothy, have a great weekend!
You too! It’s going to rain all weekend again, so I guess I’ll bake bread or make soup!
Just the title, “Moonlit Castle” sounds romantic and dreamy. I love how the sky brought so much character. Ta-da! So pretty!
Thanks Leslie Anne!
I agree “Moonlit Castle” sounds “romantic and dreamy” and maybe a bit mysterious. Loved it when the color magically made things pop. And I am crushin’ on that particular green–sap green, just love it! Georgia Gal
Thanks so much Georgia Gal!
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks so much!
Oh, Jenna so much sweetness in this one!
Thank you Mary!
Such a pretty watercolor rendition of a castle Jenna! The white paint pen reminds me of white out for a typewriter, do you remember those days? Happy Tuesday ♥
It is very similar to white out, wow, a typewriter, that takes me back!!
Hi, I like your drawing so much! It’s so cool that despite the fact that people have grown up, they continue to draw and do something like that. I’ve decided to start drawing now too!! You really inspired me. I thought it wasn’t the time for this anymore, but why not? Today I will buy paints and also draw something like that, thank you! I really want to see some more of these guides from you, it makes drawing much easier and I stopped being afraid to make mistakes while drawing. I am a perfectionist and this really hinders me in my work..
I’m so glad to be an inspiration Tony! Yes, to be an artist you have to be fearless and just plunge in! I post an art tutorial every Friday. Thanks for stopping by and happy creating!
Hello, Jenna! Just popped in to look around some blogs and thought I’d have a look at what you are up to! How have you been, it’s been AGES!!!
hi Hilda, so nice to hear from you!
