Tales of the Traveling Tote December

It seems that Fall really flew by this year,

and here we are December 1!

It’s time for more adventures of the Traveling Tote!

We are a group that share a love of MacKenzie-Childs

We all have the same large Courtly Check tote bag

We post about where our totes have been every 3 months

and host a giveaway which you can enter at the end of this post

Miss Coquille, Hello Gorgeous, and I didn’t do much traveling this fall,

Just to the beach for Labor Day weekend and Thanksgiving…

Some of our extended family joined us for Labor Day weekend

which has become an annual tradition

We were missing part of our group,

but the pool was pretty maxed out anyway!

My son in law taught the cousins how to fish off the pier

There were many boat rides

and 3 days packed with fun to wind up summer

We had a lovely and mild Fall,

Our hibiscus bloomed until early November!

I went back to my favorite store and got a few pumpkins

to add to my collection

You can never have too many pumpkins!

Skellie had some Halloween fun on the patio

The Alabama chapter of the Traveling Totes,

Emily, Ricki Jill and I,

met at a favorite restaurant for lunch in early November

Then it was back to the beach for Thanksgiving week

Super Teen and Big E played a lot of “sand golf”

They are avid golfers, hunters and fishermen

One day they sat on the pier and fished in the rain~

that’s dedication!

Charlie Brown and Big E did a couple of “polar bear” dips

The water was pretty cold!

They kept doing it though!

DD and CC & I just watched them

DD & CC

The swimmers warmed up with a sun bath on the boat

HHjr surprised the kids with a ping pong table

It’s in the garage under the house

and can be folded up and rolled out of the way for storage

They will enjoy it year round

Lunch at the Flora Bama Yacht Club is always fun

Then it was back to the city and time to start decorating!

Happy Friday Jenna! Such fun times for your family and crew at your beach house with the fishing, boating and swimming. I know you breathe a sigh of relief when hurricane season is over! Many fun hours ahead with the ping pong table too. 😉 Happy decorating and Merry December 🎄

Happy December and Merry Friday, Jenna! I love that your family enjoys your beach house and you are making so many precious memories. Your autumn was a busy but fun one! I love all the photos, I don’t think I have ever seen a photo of DD, she is beautiful! Many happy hours will be spent playing ping-pong!

You are so lucky to be able to enjoy your beach house, especially with your family. What memories you are creating, especially for all the kids! I have never been to Alabama, but if I ever get there I certainly will have to meet the Alabama chapter for lunch! Have a happy birthday and Merry Christmas – enjoy the season with your family!

  4. Seeing all that water does my heart good! Seeing people without winter coats on does too!

Ono Island is such a beautiful spot on the gulf for you and your family to continue to make wonderful memories and continue traditions. I enjoy seeing your family having fun, the pool and boating looks to be their favorites. The weather at the gulf is usually amazing, love the hibiscus blooms so late there. Pretty new pumpkins and the patio looked all decked out for fall. Beautiful daughter and granddaughter. Have fun decorating for Christmas, I know your home will look spectacular! Looking forward to seeing you soon at lunch…………..Emily

Jenna, such fun times with your family. Your beach house is a special place for the family. Love seeing the kiddos play, swim, boat and swim. That hibiscus is gorgeous. love, love your tall nutcracker. Happy holidays.

The Polar Bear dip gave me chills just looking at the photos! I always enjoy seeing your posts from Ono Island. Y’all have so much fun, and it’s nice seeing everything repaired and looking so pretty after the Sally damage. I can’t get over the Liberty Park Pig….we don’t quite have the same selection of beautiful things at ours. Do they also have pretty things for Christmas? I look forward to seeing your Christmas decor!

    • The polar bear dips are there favorite thing to do in the off season, they are crazy! We are still dealing with boat issues from the hurricane, and are going to get a new boat this spring, tired of dealing with it! The Liberty Park Pig is my favorite place to go, and yes they have beautiful things for Christmas. Whoever is in charge of the gift dept. does a great job, it’s always full of goodies!

  8. Yes – like you, November has flown by and I can’t believe December is here. Your beautiful touches look soothing and festive. All it takes is a little Southern charm and effort to make a beautiful home for your people. They are all growing up so fast and will surely appreciate everything you do for them! Happy December!

Happy December, Jenna! Your family times at the coast always make me smile. What beautiful memories you are creating for your family. They will always consider the beach property a special place.
Your grocery market certainly has fun things for fall. I’m glad you found more to add to your pumpkin patch. Happy Early Birthday and Happy Holidays!

  10. Jenna, the above is me. I forgot to log in. Sarah

Oh how fun! You all have such great times together! I enjoyed seeing all the kids. Jenna, they are growing up! But they love their grandma and will be having fun with you forever!
The new pumpkins add additional delight to your table!
    What a fabulous post!
    Merry December, dear friend!

Jenna, I’m starting to have a hard time distinguishing some of the kids! I can tell Super Teen (the tallest, right?), CC of course, and Charlie Brown (he’s her brother, right?), but Big E I’m not sure I can distinguish among that group of extended family. Wow, having so many around has to be a lot of fun (and tiring!). I love how you can toggle the beach and city, that’s such a perfect setup. And having the Alabama tote contingency always leaves me a little jelly. I’d love to be closer to y’all. And even now in December I still have plants that have not succumbed to a couple hard frosts – the weather has really been mild so far, but I’m not complaining! Happy travels, my tote friend!

    • Yes, they are growing up! Super Teen is 15 and will be driving in May. He and his brother Eli aren’t in the cousins group picture, just CC and her brother Charlie Brown. The other boys are cousins from Birmingham and Boston. I am meeting Emily and RJ for lunch the week after next, wish you could join us! I hope you have a very Merry December!

  13. What a fun time you had! Love that you can meet up with Emily and Ricki Jill and so many good times with the kids. Skelly is a winner — and looks very comfy, resting his bones by the BBQ. Oh dear, I hope he wasn’t IN the BBQ and that’s why he’s only bones!

You may not have traveled much, but you made the most of every day! Family time is the best!

Love that you, RJ and Emily can get together for special occasions! Your family times at the beach house will always be remembered. It reminds me of the memories we have made at our camp for the last 55 years. Happy Early Birthday and Merry Christmas!

What a lovely beach house to enjoy with your family. Even though you didn’t travel much, you created wonderful memories!

  17. Jenna I just love all the fun your family had at the beach. It just makes me so happy to see them enjoying the water and sand and places to go. Your entry table in the city is stunning. The blooms are incredible. Have a wonderful birthday month!

  18. The smiles on those faces are priceless! Happy creating Christmas in all your creative ways!

  19. Kitty says:

I’d say you had a busy and happy Fall, Jenna! I love seeing the kids enjoying themselves. The ping pong table will be such fun. Your DD and CC looked so cute together. Now onward we go to Christmas. ❤️🎄❤️
