Wine Cork Heart
It’s time for the January edition of the Creative Craft Hop
Thank you Sara from Birdz of a Feather
for being our wonderful hostess!
Whether you are a friend, reader, or visitor from Birdz of a Feather
{isn’t her Geometric Wall Art cool!}
Welcome, we are so happy you are here!
Today I have a fun Valentine craft for you,
a heart made out of wine corks and glass beads

This Valentine heart had a humble beginning as a pile of wine corks
Lay out a heart shape with the corks before gluing them together
I started by making the top part of the heart,
making two triangular shapes with a row of 2,
then a row of 3, then a row of 4
Then a row of 7 which joined the two triangular shapes together,
then a row of 6, 5, 4, 3, 2,
and one forming the point at the bottom of the heart
The single cork at the bottom has a metal cap on it,
It was from a special bottle of wine that I love
I used E6000 glue but of course a glue gun would work too
I painted it in an ombre fashion with shades of pink and red
Some of the corks looked pretty rough~
Nothing that a little bling can’t fix!
I used red and clear glass flat sided beads
to cover up all the lumps and bumps
The silver balls in a random pattern
helped cover up big gaps between the corks and added more sparkle
I glued a pink gem to the cork with the metal top
at the bottom of the heart
A pretty Valentine heart!

Save those corks! 💗

Wow, that is so pretty Jenna! What a brilliant way to glam up something so humble as cork!
Thank you Sara, it’s so satisfying to upcycle something 🙂 Thanks again for hosting!
Brrr…good morning Jenna! This is a cute idea using wine corks! I would have never
thought of this fun way to make a heart. I always enjoy seeing your creativity!
I plan to stay inside all day. It is snowing now, but I don’t think it will amount to much. Yikes it is cold…stay warm!
Thank you Pam! Yes, it’s snowing here too, and much too cold. I’m so glad most people are able to stay home and so glad they closed the schools yesterday. Stay cozy!
It’s moments like this that I wish I hadn’t passed on the rest of my corks in my yard sale! (Well, not all of them — I still have rather a lot but they got a bit depleted with kid crafts this winter!). I’m hanging on to this post though, because I’ll be replenishing and this would be a fun one to make!
Thanks Jeanie, it’s a fun upcycle!
Those glass gems make all the difference in this project, Jenna…and who doesn’t love a little bling??
Thank you!
That’s a super cool idea!
Thanks Angie!
I remember and pinned your wine cork heart project Jenna! Such a fun and festive upcycle craft project. Stay warm ♥
Thank you Mary! We got snow last night and this morning, our city is shut down!
I love how your cork heart completes your Valentine’s table. It looks amazing, Jenna. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Terrie!
You’ve created a super cute and sweet cork heart, Jenna! The perfect addition to your lovely Valentine table setting! Simple beautiful!
Thank you Gail!
Jenna, this is so pretty and I love that the colors you used create an ombre effect!
Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
Thank you Cecelia!
How clever you are Jenna making a heart out of the corks. I don’t know why, but I just can’t seem to toss out the corks. LOL It was good that you had the “bling” on hand as they made the heart even more special. It appears that almost all of the country is COLD, so great projects to keep busy although I’m going to get under the covers and read a good book. 🤗
Thank you Kari, curling up with a book and a blanket is a great idea!
Such a cute idea! I’m not quite ready for Valentine’s Day yet although a neighbor took down her Christmas decorations and put up a heart wreath on December 26. 🙄 I like your way of easing out of December and into winter by changing out only some of your decorations.
Thank you Linda, I agree, that’s a little soon! I don’t get out Valentine things until Feb 1 or so. I am ready for January to be over, it’s 10 degrees this morning!
Your cork heart looks great and the extra bling takes it over the top! It looks wonderful on your table, too.
Thanks so much Allyson!
This is so cute! It’s great hopping with you. Pinned.

The glass beads are the perfect little extra bling for this project. Looks great on your table.

Thank you Mary, a fun, easy craft ❤️
This wine cork heart is darling. I enjoyed seeing it with the antique key.
Such a fun way to use corks. And I love the added bling too.
Darling!
Than you Nancy ❤️
What a great way to use saved wine corks! We have a ton. Your ombre color scheme is a great look.
We have so many wine corks. I love this idea for using them. Pretty pink color scheme.
