Fearless Friday, 3 D Painting Ideas
I had so much fun creating this 3 D Flower Canvas
a few weeks ago
and I love the way it looks in the foyer…

I am dying to make another one so I have been browsing Pinterest
Today I’m going to share more clever 3 D ideas I found
that might be fun for us to try
I also looked through my own gallery and found this one
that I shared for a Creative Craft Hop several years ago

The beach is painted first with the water breaking onto the shore
and then shells and sea glass are glued on
to look like they just washed up on the beach

You can also dress up a picture frame with paint
and paper flowers

Here’s another frame that is transformed into a tree
Note: All of the canvases below that aren’t mine were found on Pinterest and I was unable to source the artists
How about an umbrella full of flowers!

Or a window box full of flowers
A profile with paper strips or strings for hair
is decorated with a butterfly, flowers, and leaves

Now this on canvas the ranunculus are all done with paint
and you don’t have to have mad art skills to apply thick swirls
for the flowers and small strokes for leaves
This one below does require art skills,
but I am including it because it’s so adorable!
I’m not sure what their skirts are made of…

I love this one,
it is crazy cool how the flowers wrap around the sides of the canvas~
Again I have no idea what the flowers are made of
but they are so interesting to look at

Santa’s Christmas Tree from the archives
is made with a snowy tree painted on canvas
with a decorated paint brush on top as if it painted it
The tree is decorated with glass bead ornaments,
a star foil garland and is surrounded with paper packages

I hope I’ve inspired you to try making a 3 D art creation,
there are endless possibilities…

Have fun and Be Fearless!

Wow, these are all spectacular!! Digging out some canvases today that I have been saving for a project. Love this!
Thank you, and have fun with those canvases!
Jenna, I love the ones you have created and the ones you found on Pinterest. The umbrella of flowers is amazing! Thank you for the inspiration this morning! Happy Friday!
Thank you Pam!
Jenna, my first comment disappeared. I love all of the 3D’s that you have created and the ones you shared from Pinterest! They are all amazing, I especially like the umbrella one with flowers. Thank you for the inspiration on this beautiful morning! Happy Friday!
All so pretty, and I really love the beach scene!
Thank you Dorothy, the 3 D technique is so much fun and really makes the canvases pop!
Beautiful creations! Yours are my favorites!
Last summer, I made a 3D painted canvas as the sign to guide the way to my son’s and now daughter-in-law’s bridal shower. It came out so cute.
Thank you Nancy! I would love to see your sign, do you have a photo of it?
I do! I’ll send it to you!
I love the thick paint technique. I once painted and made textured skirts of paper for a protrait of a Dogwood Trail Maid from Mobile. I didn’t like the way it turned out, but it was a fun project.
I bet the Dogwood Trail Maid with the paper skirt was really cute! Sometimes we are our harshest critics! I like the thick paint technique too, very effective.
Love these, Jenna!
Thanks Rita!
I fell in love with 3D art after creating my first flower design. The possibilities are endless and I can’t get enough of it! Great post!
Thanks Stephanie, aren’t they all so much fun! Happy creating!
The 3D art is taking painting to another chapter! I love the beach painting with the shells and sea glass – am I on the beach?!!!
Thanks so much Mary! As you can see, the 3 D effect fascinates me 🙂
So many fun ideas! I especially liked the window garden one and the bunny one at the end. So cute! 🐰❤️
Thanks Jill, aren’t they all so interesting!
These are such neat ideas! My sister in law makes 3-d paintings with clay and paint and gemstones and I just love them.
Thank you Joanne, your SIL’s paintings sound amazing!
Jenna, I love the ones that you have done and the ones you found on Pinterest. I know that whatever one you choose, it will be beautiful. I do like them all and its hard to pick a Pinterest favorite, but the umbrella is so pretty and the kitty is so sweet too. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Happy Monday!
Thanks Kim, I am fascinated with this 3 D stuff right now!
