Combine ingredients in a sauce pan and cook over medium low heat. Stir occasionally and simmer for 10-12 minutes to blend the flavors. Strain to remove garlic. Cool to room temperature. Makes about 1 1/2 cups. Use immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
Separate chicken wings at joint with a sharp knife. Grill over medium hot coals about 20-25 minutes, or until done, basting during the last 10 minutes with sauce.
You can also cook these in the oven. Arrange chicken on baking sheets and brush with sauce. Bake at 350, basting occasionally, until done, about 45-60 minutes.
