Maple Sausage Cheese Grits

Maple breakfast sausage

unsalted butter
6
oz
flavorful cheese
grated, such as Asiago, Gruyere, Manchego, Gouda, Smoked Gouda, or Sharp Cheddar,
salt and pepper
Grits
Instructions
Make grits according to package directions.
Meanwhile brown sausage and drain.
Combine cooked grits and sausage.
Add butter, cheese and season well. Cover pan and let cheese and butter melt. Stir.
Place mixture into a greased casserole dish. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 days.
Bake uncovered at 350 for 30-45 minutes until heated through. Serves 6-8

Serve alone, with fruit, or with fried, scrambled or poached eggs
