SALSA BREAD

canned biscuits paired with salsa and cheese make this bubble up bread casserole irresistible!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can Pillsbury Grands biscuit dough
  • 4-5 green onions chopped
  • 1 cup salsa
  • lots of grated cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Cut biscuits into 1/8ths. Put biscuit pieces into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish, in one layer, leaving some spaces.
  • Toss with green onions and salsa, covering dough but not drenching it.
  • Toss in some cheese, reserve additional cheese for topping at the end.
  • Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are done and golden. Top with additional cheese and return to oven just to melt.
  • 4-6 servings

Notes

VARIATIONS:
MEXICAN GARBAGE
add green onions, sliced black olives, black beans, corn, salsa, grated cheese, sausage, ground beef, or taco meat. Serve with sour cream and guacamole
BLEU CHEESE, BACON AND PECAN
Instead of the salsa, onions and cheese cook 6-8 pieces of bacon and crumble. Toss bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, pecan pieces or walnut, with 1/2 c mayo or butter . Gently toss with biscuit pieces and bake as above
ITALIAN
Eliminate salsa, onions & cheddar. Toss biscuit pieces with chopped proscuitto, pepperoni or salami, chopped artichokes, mayo, sundried tomatoes or diced tomato, Parmesan or mozzarella, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 c mayo or Marinara
