Maple Bacon Apple Danish

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 8, crescent roll dough or 1 crescent roll sheet
  • 4 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 3 T sugar
  • 1 T vanilla
  • 1 pkg 12 oz, Stouffers Apples, cooked
  • 4 strips maple bacon cooked and diced
  • Maple Icing {see recipe below}

Instructions
 

  • Remove dough from can, leaving the roll in tact.
  • Cut dough into 8-10 slices, and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Make an indentation {with your fingers or the bottom of a glass} in the center of the dough slices.
  • Mix cream cheese with sugar and vanilla.
  • Divide evenly between slices, placing filling in the dough indentation.
  • Top with2-3 Tablespoons of apples.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until dough is cooked through and golden.
  • Let cool, then drizzle with Maple icing and diced bacon

Notes

Maple Icing
2 T butter
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup powdered sugar
Pinch of salt
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and maple syrup together, whisking occasionally. Once the butter has melted, remove from heat and whisk in the sifted confectioners sugar. Taste and add a pinch of salt if desired. Set glaze aside and allow to cool and thicken, then drizzle over danishes
