Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave. If you use the microwave use 50% power and stir after every 30 seconds.
When chocolate is almost melted stir in peanut butter. Stir well until peanut butter is incorporated and chocolate is completely melted.
Stir in nuts.
Working quickly, place large spoonfuls of mixture on a parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Transfer baking sheet to refrigerator for chocolates to set up.
Put cooled candy into a covered container and store in refrigerator or cool place until serving. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
Notes
*for non peanut version substitute chex cereal for nuts and almond butter for peanut butter**use sea salt or kosher salt instead of sugar for a salted candy
