Tempura Fried Okra

  • fresh okra pods
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup ice water or beer
  • salt & pepper


  • Combine egg white with flour and liquid.
  • Season well with salt and pepper.
  • Add okra and stir to coat.
  • Place battered okra into hot oil in batches.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  • Drain on paper towels and keep warm in a 200 degree oven until ready to eat.
