Cuisine American
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef or ground chuck
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper
- 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce I used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet & Spicy
- hamburger buns
- cheddar cheese slices optional
Spray or line your slow cooker
Add ketchup, BBQ sauce, mustard, Worcestershire, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Brown beef in skillet, crumbling as you cook and stir it.
When beef is done, add minced garlic and cook an additional 1-2 minutes.
Drain beef well and add to sauce in slow cooker
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours
Just before serving, toast buns. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom of the buns and top with meat mixture, and then top with remaining halves of buns
Variations:
Chop an onion and brown in skillet and add it to beef and sauce if desired, or garnish with chopped raw onion when serving
Serve meat over a baked potato instead of a bun
For a low carb version wrap meat in a large lettuce leaf
If you want to cook this stove top, use the same directions and put the ingredients into a large deep pot and simmer on low heat for an hour to let flavors blend
